NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas — The New Braunfels Police Department is issuing a Public Safety Advisory following two recent Aggravated Kidnapping attempts.

In both instances the victims reported that a male flagged them down, entered the vehicle, displayed a firearm, and instructed the driver to continue driving. The male suspect is described as a thin, older, white male who was clean shaven and wearing a red hoodie.

The Guadalupe County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call just before 4 p.m., about an armed man who got into the car of a female in New Braunfels, demanding that she drive him to Houston, Lt. John Koch said.

“Instead of driving him to Houston, she drives around for about 2 hours until he starts to realize that they are not heading toward Houston,” he said.

While driving on Farm-to-Market Road 758, the girl got her hands on a “lock-blade hunting knife” and stabbed the suspect in the leg, Koch said.

“At that time, she pulled the car over near the bar — the Barbarosa Trough — near FM 758 and Barbarosa Road, and the suspect got out of the car and ran off into a nearby field,” he said. “She got out of the car and ran toward the bar and called for help.”
