Detectives asking for help finding missing Monroe woman

Monroe, Washington -
"The Snohomish County sheriff’s office is asking for help finding a 53-year-old woman who disappeared Monday afternoon.

Detectives said Marianne Humble has no history of depression and has never disappeared like this before. She was last seen around 4:30 p.m., and family members got worried when she didn’t come home for the night."

This woman is the Mom of one of my Daughter's best friends in High School, they graduated in 2003 and are in contact a couple times a year. Per my Daughter, this is a very close knit family and the Mom is a great Mom. The area they are looking for, near their home, is a somewhat sparsely populated area and wooded on the rural outskirts of Monroe not far from the Snoqualmie river. I hope she is found safe.
 
Was she driving? On foot? Last seen under what circumstances?

All that I can find is that she was last seen at home at around 4:30 pm, they are not saying anything else. They are searching the area near her home, search and rescue. Her Daughter sent my daughter a link of the articles linked in above postings and that is all she has communicated.
 
Authorities find body in Skykomish River while searching for missing Monroe woman
The Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office said they found a woman’s body in the Skykomish River while searching for a missing woman late Wednesday.

Search-and-rescue crews have been searching for 53-year-old Marianne Humble, of Monroe, who was reported missing on Monday.

It will be up to the Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office to identify the body and determine cause and manner of death.

Authorities said they would be back out in the area Thursday searching for and gathering evidence and Major Crimes will continue to investigate Humble’s disappearance

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office has determined the cause of death in the case of 53-year-old Marianne Humble to be fresh water drowning. The manner of death is undetermined at this time.

The case is still under investigation. Snohomish County Sheriff’s Office detectives do not believe the death is suspicious.

I did read that she was found in water close to her home, which could suggest an accident.
 
I am unsure where Marianne entered the water as her property backs right up to the banks of the Skykomish River. It seems a substantial river and may have been moving fast at the end of January.

Media reports state that she was found in the river quite close to home, 3 days after disappearing.
 
There has been a lot of flooding and mud slide/erosion with all the rain we've been getting lately. Just last night on the news, they showed a house on the Nisqually river that had to be evacuated because 100 feet of river bank has washed away in the past couple of weeks. The family still owes money on the house, but its been condemned as the river is eating the land right out from under it.

It could be that Marianne was out looking at the river and accidentally fell or slid in. Very sad for her family!
 
When this was an isolated case, it was much easier to believe LE when they ruled out homicide as a manner of death. With the death of Cheryl DeBoer under similar circumstances and in such close proximity, I think this case should be revisited. I would be curious to know how the family feels about the ME's ruling on the manner of death. Are they satisfied that MH's death was the result of suicide or an accident or are they as frustrated as the Deboers seem to be?
