    GA - Lamar Putnam, 79, Carrollton, 16 Jan 2016

Lamar Putnam of Carrollton, Georgia disappeared on January 16. His car was found several days later in Hollis Crossing, Alabama, several hundred miles away from his home in Carrollton. Putnam was also captured on surveillance camera at a gas station in Alabama.

Putnam told a friend he was going to look at a herd of cattle in Alabama. Putnam, a long-time cattle broker, continued to work regularly. However, his family says Putnam does suffer from dementia but adds that this incident is completely out of the ordinary.

"Nothing has surfaced. We believe he had on a black hat. It has not been found. We also believe he had on white tennis shoes, and as far as we know, they remain on his feet. No thread of clothing. No copy of his driver’s license that he kept with him. Nothing. Nothing. People do not just vanish from this Earth," she wrote.

Putnam was last seen wearing an orange and white long-sleeve button up, khaki pants and a black hat. He is 5 feet 8 inches tall and weighs 172 pounds.

Was the car found in the area he went to to look a cattle? Or completely elsewhere?

    I hope he wasn't carjacked.

Would the drive from Carrollton to Hollis Crossing take him through lonely country roads?

"UPDATE 1/22/16 10:19 EST: Video surveillance from a convenience store has been recovered that shows Lamar on the morning that he went missing, several hours before he was seen at the salon in Cleburne County. We now know that he was wearing: a brown plaid long-sleeve button down, jeans, brown Merrell brand shoes, and a camouflage hat."

Could someone be so awesome and map all these locations? I can never figure it out how to make all the points stick.

Awe look at him smiling, enjoying a bit of chit chat with the cashier. It looks like he couldn't find what he wanted in that store.
He looks such a nice gent, I hope he's found safe and very soon.

The familyís last contact with Lamar Allen Putnam was Saturday around 11 a.m. said his son, Carson Putnam. They brought the dog, Tip, on Monday in hopes that she might go to their father, wherever he is.

Lamar Putnam left Carrollton around 8 a.m. Saturday. The family isnít sure where he was when he called about 11 a.m. but it wasnít from Hollis. Yet thatís where his black 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer was found, under the bridge where Cleburne County Search and Rescue was looking Monday.

The family also doesnít know why the man was in Hollis, though it might have been to look at some cattle, they said. He is a livestock buyer.

He does. These cases of elderly with dementia really get to me. He looks so happy and pleasant. Reminds me of my dad and plus the fact my dad also traded cattle for a living and loved his plaid shirts. What is the weather like there? He has been missing 9 days now. I need to do more research on this case. Makes me so sad!
