Case History: Body found approximately 100 feet off Woods Road in remote Gilmer County.

Her Namus entry says DNA is available.

There's one ruleout: Misty Mock.

This is roughly where she was found. Woods Road is about 9 miles south of the town of Ellijay, where there's a Walmart. It appears to be farming country; there's a winery not far away, too.

I'm thinking that it's a small road off of the beaten path. I do not believe it was a truck driver. It is very close to the Appalachian trail.. There's lots of hiking in our area. She could've been a drifter or hitch hiker. I wish I knew what kind of clothes she was wearing. I assume none, but that would tell a lot. I will go over there and take pictures this weekend.
 
Someone could have gotten on the interstate from Atlanta headed north to the mountains, and turned off onto some back road and tossed her. Imo
 
Thanks for the information, earthmama. The AT was the first thing I thought of when I saw the location, but when hikers go missing, they usually attract some attention.
 
Namus gives the appr. age now as 20-31.

Seem there was nothing on her but the ring?

She was found on Aug 03, and her body was badly decomposed (unrecognizable). So I would say one should look at MP's that went missing before mid-July 1992.
 
A long shot...since Sabrina Leigh Long disappeared from Macon, GA, about a year before this UID was located...but I suppose she could have been held somewhere alive for a while? Height not such a good match, but hair color/age/weight within reason.... NAMUS says Sabrina has dentals on file but no DNA.

I'd be surprised if there was not a local connection here.

Blue Ridge and Ellijay are still quite rural. This is a community known for its apple industry, chicken farming and vacation homes. I'd suggest someone familiar with that specific area around Jones Mountain Rd./136- either having lived there, hunted there, vacationed there, or having some other familiarity. I've driven that route along Pleasant Valley between 136 and 52 and it's scenic, but remote. Just a dirt road.

Also- the AT is not terribly close.
 
I'm very curious about that ring, because KAOS is a brand of body jewelry, primarily silicone plugs and gauges. I wonder if this is a different KAOS, or if they made a wider range of jewelry in the 90's? I don't see any finger rings in their lineup any more.

I found some "vintage" rings -- seem like sort of high-end costume pieces -- here and there in marketplaces online, the descriptions of which state they are marked KAOS. Whether a different company or whether once a wider range, I don't know. Haven't run into any tigerseye pieces in a quick search but seeing some opal and coral pieces. Here's one example:

Hey earthmama777, I've been backtracking and researching GMH for the past 8+ years and live in Tate, GA. I was living on Afton rd, Dawson County when the Meredith Emerson abduction happened. GMH wrote the script for the Deadly Run movie in 1992/93 in an abandoned house on steve tate hwy off hwy 136. The movie went to video in 1994. Also in the late 70s or early 80s there were 3 hunters that went into the woods on Burnt Mtn off Hwy 136 and only 2 came out. His remains were later found in the woods at Hwy 136 at Goshen Ch Rd, Dawsonville<unsolved>. A very similar scene was in the movie..

This is the abandoned Anderson house located at Steve Tate Hwy, and the Amicacola River, where Gary Michael Hilton's creative writing studio was set up, for writing the script for the "Deadly Run"; movie in 1992/93
A table with large writing pads, and an old Royal Typewriter, was set up with a light that was powered by a car battery/s. This was witnessed by a close friend of mine, and some of his trout fishing buddies.
He stated that the house was immaculate and the kitchen sinks had been recently bleached.
When I moved to the North Ga Mountains, I would take friends and visitors to visit this unique vintage old house on the river because it had hand carved wood trim, was built in the 1800's and had a hidden room under the stairwell that contained a sofa, and had a hidden door to enter it. I thought it was a boot-leggers house, and this was his hiding place for when the revenuers came snooping around.. My friend said, "We had a strange and eerie feeling come over us and quickly left!...

The old house eventually burned to the ground. Although it was never ruled as an arson, there were no utilities to the house and the weather was clear on the night that it burned. I contacted the Dawson County Fire Department Arson Investigator to get the fire report and was advised that fire reports were not kept during the time of the fire..
