'We want to stop wondering when we're going to get that ... call'

There's been no sign of the 53-year-old Hyde since Dec. 8, when she went missing from the home where she was staying with friends off U.S. 701, about 4 1/2 miles north of White Lake.
[...]
Law enforcement agencies searched the largely rural area on foot and by air in the days and weeks after Hyder went missing, Warwick said.

Her car was found behind an unoccupied mobile home “a couple hundred yards from the home where she was staying.”

The car was locked, Warwick said, and there were no signs of forced entry. Some of Hyder’s belongings were in the car, but he would not say what they were.

“That particular day, she had left the residence (where she was staying) to take an acquaintance home. That was the individual who last saw her,” Warwick said.

He would not identify the man.

“They had known each other for some time. Basically, he was having vehicle problems so she took him home,” Warwick said.

The man lived about eight miles away.

The man is considered a person of interest, Warwick said.

“There’s a number of people I would designate as persons of interest, but this one in particular because he was the last one in the residence (on Oliver Lane).”
