This is the Bosma murder trial discussion thread.

Please post your comments here, and at all times, keep in mind Websleuths TOS, so affectionately referred to as The Rules.

There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for snarky or disrespectful posts and/or subtle digs at other members. Mods will not be pm'ing you, you will find your post has disappeared, or that you can no longer post.

There is to be NO name calling or name variations, not even of the accused.

There is to be no BICKERING between members. A difference of opinion is NOT a TOS violation. Some will think one or both of the accused are guilty, some will think one or both are not guilty, and some will be on the fence. All of that is okay and should NOT BE ATTACKED. If you disagree, that's fine, move past the post. If a post is offensive, alert it and let the Mods review it. If you respond to the post, both the offensive post AND yours will be removed and may result in other consequences.

If you have any questions, PM a Mod and we will be happy to assist you. The main Mods/Admin for this trial will be Bessie, Coldpizza, and sillybilly.

Arthur Jennings told a Hamilton court Thursday that he took this photo of Tim Bosma's truck inside the Millard Air hangar in 2013. (Arthur Jennings/Court exhibit)

Monday starts with further cross-examination of Toronto resident Igor Tumanenko, who had gone on a test drive with two men days before Bosma disappeared.

Tim Bosma murder trial continues Monday
BY SAM PAZZANO, TORONTO SUN

The testimony expected this week at the first-degree murder trial will not be nearly as emotional for the Hamilton courtroom packed with Bosma’s supporters.

[...]

Former Israeli Defence Force member Igor Tumanenko who took a test drive with Millard and Smich the day before Bosma’s disappearance will resume testifying on Monday.

Tumanenko told the men he was familiar with truck’s diesel engine from his days in the Israeli army.

[...]

The next witness is expected to be car painter who was asked to repaint Bosma’s truck. A witness who is expected to describe Millard’s arrest and the seizure of his cellphone is also slated to be called this week.

Sachak zeroing in on the fact that Tumanenko didn't say anything about the "temperature changing in the car," after he made his comment about being in the Israeli army when giving a statement to police. "You did not say in your statement that the driver was moving around or fidgeting. You did not say that the driver was moving like a mouse." Sachak says. Tumanenko agrees.

Adam Carter
Feb 8 2016 10:15 AM
Sachak says to Tumanenko, "When you made the statement to police, you knew the person who was missing had gone on a test drive. And you knew he had gone on a test drive with two people." Tumanenko says yes.

Adam Carter
Feb 8 2016 10:13 AM
Tumanenko says he was doing his best to be precise when giving a statement to police after going on his test drive. "It's unusual for me to see two police detectives coming to me ... My stomach get frozen. It's not easy for me."

We're set to hear more from Igor Tumanenko this morning, the ex-Israeli soldier who went on a test drive with two men -- one of whom being Mark Smich, who is on of the accused. Tumanenko is a pretty imposing figure. He's a big, thick guy with a heavy eastern European accent.

"He was a nice fellow after all. You never know maybe what they do," Sachak quotes Tumanenko as saying in his police statement about the taller man on the test drive.

Mark Carcasole ‏@MarkCarcGlobal 51s52 seconds ago
Tumanenko is the guy who told police the taller 1 had word "Ambition" tattooed on his wrist. Police say that helped lead them to #Millard.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 56s57 seconds ago
IT describes tall guy as "more beautiful" than himself. Court chuckles. A normal guy he might chat with in Home Depot. #Bosma

Mark Carcasole ‏@MarkCarcGlobal 2m2 minutes ago
Tumanenko describes the taller man as wearing t-shirt, jeans, satchel bag. Behaviour normal, not trying to hide anything. Hands visible.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 2m2 minutes ago
Igor says tall guy was "more beautiful" than he was. #Bosma
