This is the Bosma murder trial discussion thread.

Please post your comments here, and at all times, keep in mind Websleuths TOS, so affectionately referred to as The Rules.

There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for snarky or disrespectful posts and/or subtle digs at other members. Mods will not be pm'ing you, you will find your post has disappeared, or that you can no longer post.

There is to be NO name calling or name variations, not even of the accused.

There is to be no BICKERING between members. A difference of opinion is NOT a TOS violation. Some will think one or both of the accused are guilty, some will think one or both are not guilty, and some will be on the fence. All of that is okay and should NOT BE ATTACKED. If you disagree, that's fine, move past the post. If a post is offensive, alert it and let the Mods review it. If you respond to the post, both the offensive post AND yours will be removed and may result in other consequences.

If you have any questions, PM a Mod and we will be happy to assist you. The main Mods/Admin for this trial will be Bessie, Coldpizza, and sillybilly.

Reminders for reference as we have respectful discussion in each of the daily trial discussion threads:

Abuse of the WS Alert feature can have consequences including timeout or worse. Such abuse includes, but is not limited to:

• Overuse of the alert system

• Repeatedly alerting on the same poster

• Demanding a specific outcome

• Alerting on the same post more than once

Once you have alerted on a post, please move on without discussing it, and don't question the decisions of our Administrators, Moderators or Owners, and don't expect personalized responses with explanations about a particular decision.

Note: Only testimony that is published through MSM reporting (articles and tweets) is allowed. Keep discussion focused on testimony as it becomes public knowledge and remember to link up to MSM reporting of same.

Any testimony that might remain under Publication Ban, and any courtroom discussion that takes place when the jury is not present, is strictly off-limits.

The principle of “innocent until proven guilty” is for the court room … it is not required that Websleuths members adhere to that principle. Members are allowed to discuss, speculate, theorize, and judge according to opinions they develop from following the specifics of the case.

Millard and Smich just entered the courtroom.

...catching up, so is it safe to assume from cell tower pings that MS had his girlfriend's burner phone and was texting DM's personal cell in the area of 9:30ish, each one driving a vehicle? Kinda dismisses the third party scenario MOO...we have no idea how really disturbed these two accused are until the WM and LB cases come to trial, JMO its ugly already and will get nauseating ugly, rest in peace Mr Bosma, rest in peace

I don't think it's safe to assume that until or unless we learn THAT phone was also pinging off the same tower in Ancaster that night.

Overheard from high school students at #Bosma trial: "The judge doesn't really do anything. The jury does all the work."

I'm surprised they didn't wake up all the neighbours when they put that trailer there. Unless they were so skilled backing that thing in there, over lip at the edge of the street, up a slight incline, that they were able to do it in one shot, the engine of the truck would have been revving every time they pulled forward or went in reverse. Based on how close to the house that is, I am picturing it taking a few runs to get it there...as they nudge inches closer, the engine on a decent size truck revving away. MOO

Today's first witness is Brent Gibson.

He's an officer with Hamilton police. He's currently in the vice and drug unit - but on May 12, 2013 he was assisting the homicide branch.

Like clockwork, Millard walks into court smiling. First at front row at Bosma's family, then the jury #MillardSmich

(add a bunch of words here that I'd be sent to the corner for, and then add a few more)

I hate to belabor the point.....but we don't actually know it was the Juice phone texting DM at those times. We know SOMEONE texted him and he pinged off Ancaster at 9:02 and Brantford at 9:44. I think those texts were focused on to provide the location of DM at those times. The next thing the witness talked about was MM's phones and I think a lot of people made the leap that it was that phone texting DM. I'm not saying it wasn't the Juice phone texting at those times.....I'm just wondering if I missed information (quite possible) or if others are inferring this because of the proximity of the statements by the witness.....would be nice to get this cleared up. Where did you get that info?

I made the same mistake last night and then went back and re-read every single tweet and every article from court yesterday. Never found what I thought I'd seen.
