Case History: Body was discovered in the Willamette River near the Swan Island boat ramp, in the NE corner of Swan Island Lagoon.

The woman, who officials say appears to be white and between the ages of 50 and 60, was discovered badly decomposed on May 31, 2009 by boaters on the river. Authorities hope several distinct features about the woman, including the large amount of jewelry found with her body and her extensive dental work

The woman&#8217;s DNA profile, dental information and X-rays have been uploaded into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons (NamUs) system but a match is yet to be found. <as for today 23-2-2018, 16 persons are on the rule out list> Investigators say the woman was about 5-feet-3-inches tall, weighed about 160 pounds and had curly, graying brown hair tied in a 12-inch braid down her back and secured with a turquoise elastic band.

Followed by a list of the jewelry and the place of it on her body.

Still wondering how she ended up there. Was she a "bag lady"? Was it a homicide....a suicide...just wondering. We know for sure she is female, but race/ethnicity is unknown. Hope she can return home, wherever that is, soon. They have DNA on file....no matches yet. Probably this lady was never reported missing or LE couldn't/wouldn't take a rapport for whatever reason. Imagine your are out there.....


For convenience, for the "non inches" members. Her braid was about 30 cm, her height 157,48 (5'2) her weight (170 lbs) about 77 kg.

This lady had curly, graying brown hair tied in a 12-inch braid down her back and secured with a turquoise elastic band. They don't say it was Black-African "kind of" hair. That's a petty. But she is probably Caucasian, according to this call for help

The woman also had extensive dental work including upper and lower removable partial dentures and multiple fillings in her natural teeth. She was wearing a baby blue hooded sweatshirt with white trim and a kangaroo pocket, and a lace-top “Exclusive”-brand size 46DD bra.

Seems like it was a pretty popular fishing spot until there was some vandalism and some repairs were started in early 2009 (the ramp was closed off in Jan/Feb). It was reopened by the end of Dec 2011 but I'm not sure when. It might have been pretty desolate when Jane Doe was out there.

I got lost in the area once and it's very industrial. I guess there are homeless people that congregate as well. I don't see any other possessions that were found with her? Her jewelry is relatively nice and in pretty good condition. I wish they'd show her clothes. I'm curious about what shoes she was wearing (if any).

This is IMO the approx. pattern the UID necklace is made of. They are not daisy's (daisy's are white) but sunflowers. I only could find a bracelet/anklet size. It's from Urban Outfitters and according to this add could only be pursued in a bundle. Anybody familiar with poshmark.com/Urban Outfitters? Probably are sold all over the place and will lead to nothing.....

The body of a middle-aged woman was recovered from the Willamette River near the Swan Island boat ramp on May 31, 2009.

According to the report, several pieces of possibly identifiable jewelry were found on the body, although one of her hands was reported missing.
The woman is described as:

  • 50-60 years old
  • Graying hair, styled in a 12-inch braid
  • 5′ 3″ tall
  • 170 pounds
  • Pierced ears
  • Blue hooded sweatshirt with white and light blue ribbing worn at the time the body was found
  • Several pieces of jewelry including a yellow rubber “Live Strong” bracelet, a rainbow rubber “Embrace Diversity” bracelet, a beaded green and yellow “daisy” necklace, a woven string bracelet, a necklace with a red stone, a necklace with a heart and clear stones, a ring with a red stone, and a blue hoop earring with beads were also recovered.
