Missing Rose Polge: Overnight coastal search finds no sign of missing Devon woman

Torquay, Devon, England -
Police have appealed for information on the whereabouts of Rose Polge.

Rose, 25 from Torquay has been missing since yesterday afternoon.

Roses car was found in Ansteys car park and despite an extensive search of the area by coastguard, RNLI, police and search and rescue teams, her whereabouts is still unknown.

The search has concentrated around the Ansteys Cove area.

A Devon hospital has confirmed that missing woman Rose Polge works for them as a junior doctor.

Her colleagues from Torbay Hospital have taken part in the search for the 25-year-old who went missing on Friday.

A huge police search and rescue operation has been ongoing in Torquay since her disappearance in the area around Ansteys Cove.

It resumed on Sunday morning with no further updates on where the young medic might be.

PC Giesens said: 'We have had a variety of units working very hard in the area including specialist units - dog units, the police helicopter, coastguard rescue teams and the coastguard helicopter has been twice.

Her car was found at Anstey's Cove car park in Torquay, Devon, at 6pm on Friday night, with the first searches concentrating on the cove area until 2am on Saturday.

Strong winds and rough seas had hampered the weekend search for the medic, but have been carried out despite the weather.

The police search manager PC Pete Giesens said: 'We are very concerned for Rose due to the circumstances of her going missing.

'We are concerned for her welfare and her disappearance is out of character.'

Oh dear, hope she's found quickly.

A major operation is under way to find Rose Polge, 25, whose car was found in a car park near Ansteys Cove in Devon.
Police, coastguards and search and rescue groups continued to search for Dr Polge in Torquay at the weekend.
Devon and Cornwall Police said it was "totally out of character" for the young woman and are concerned for her welfare.

More than 100 people have been involved in the search operation, including her boyfriend and family.
Police, a Coastguard helicopter and search and rescue helicopter have assisted with the operation, as well as Teignmouth RNLI lifeboat, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service and Dartmoor Search and Rescue Team.

Oh dear. I was wondering about the pay dispute and any possible connection yesterday. This doesn't look at all good.

ETA : if the worst has happened, what a terrible waste of a young life. Also, this means there's a chance Rose will never be found. How completely awful for her family and friends.

Very sad seeing she was stressed...though I suspected. Naming the Health Secretary in the note is a pretty big deal and I'm not surprised its took days for that detail to be revealed.
