    NM - Kenneth, 3, Valencia County, 16 February 2016

Valencia County Sheriff's Office looks for missing 3-year old

    Valencia County, New Mexico -
The Valencia County Sheriff's Office is looking for a three-year old boy who may be in danger.

Investigators say family members reported Kenneth missing Monday. They say he was last seen with his mother's live-in boyfriend, Nicholas Vallejos, at the Los Lunas Home Depot.

Vallejos is now wanted for questioning. He is said to be 24 years old, about 6'2" and 170 pounds. He has dark features. He was last seen driving a 1999 Honda with the New Mexico license plate MZF141.

A VCSO captain tells Action 7 News there were reports of abuse and that is why they think Kenneth may be in danger. They say they have not yet located Kenneth's mom, Christine, either. They did not provide a description as to what she looks like.

Valencia County deputies, NMSP looking for man and missing child

Valencia County sheriff's deputies and New Mexico State Police are searching for a man who may have information on the whereabouts of a child.

New Mexico State Police issued an endangered child alert late Monday for a boy only identified as "Kenneth."

State police and Valencia County deputies are looking to find 24-year-old Nicholas Vallejos to question him about Kenneth's whereabouts. Vallejos, who deputies confirm is

likely in a relationship with the child's mother, was seen with the boy Monday in Los Lunas.

New Mexico State Police Sgt. Elizabeth Armijo says Vallejos is not necessarily unfit to care for the child, but there are concerns for the childís welfare and he was the one

last seen with the child and the childís mother.

allejos was last seen driving a white 1999 Honda Accord, which Valencia County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Gary Hall said was found early Tuesday morning on Peyton Road in Los Chavez.

“The people at the residence where we found the vehicle are related to Mr. Vallejos somehow, we just don’t know right now,” Hall said. “We didn’t get a lot of information from them last night and our detectives are going to talk to them again this morning. We’re pretty sure they know where Nicholas Vallejos might be.”

Hall said a family member had called Los Lunas police Monday around 3:30 p.m. reporting that Vallejos was with the boy in the parking lot at The Home Depot in Los Lunas, and that the boy had been abused for the past couple of days by Vallejos.

Hall said when Los Lunas police realized the alleged child abuse occurred in the unincorporated area of the county, they called the Valencia County Sheriff’s Office to investigate.

“We haven’t been able to talk to the reporting party and haven’t been able to identify the last name of the mother or the boy,” Hall said. “We’re working on that now and we’re going to a couple of residences in the county this morning trying to locate the boy.”

Deputies say the 3-year-old boy they were searching for has been found.

    ~~

Deputies say the boy was found with his mother, Rachanda Myers, in Socorro. He was taken to a hospital with signs of abuse including bruising. Officials say his injuries are serious but not life threatening.

Officials say Myers will face charges. She is already on probation for other other crimes.

Myer's boyfriend, 24-year-old Nicholas Vallejos, of the Belen area, turned himself into the probation and parole office in Los Lunas earlier today, Hall said. He is currently being interviewed at the sheriff's office.
