Emporia State University is mourning the death of a 19-year-old sophomore form Olathe, KS.

Erika Jaremko was found dead at her sorority house Friday morning.

She was majoring in psychology.

The university’s president shared the sad news with fellow students and staff in a letter that said, in part:

“Our deepest sympathies and prayers are with Erika’s family and friends. We offer them and the entire ESU community our support during this difficult time.”“There are no words to adequately express our thoughts at a time like this, but we can unite as a community to support each other. In addition to supporting each other, the university has counselors from the Student Wellness Center available. They have been meeting with Erika’s friends and housemates since the university learned of Erika's death earlier today. Anyone who would like to visit with a counselor can call the Student Wellness Center at 620-341-5222.”
It’s not yet clear how she died.
