Jason Corbett wasn’t ready to remarry but he was heartbroken, says best friend
    October 5, 2015
    http://evoke.ie/news/jason-corbett-w...ms-best-friend

The move saw Jason buy a luxury house in the sought-after Meadowlands area of Winston-Salem, North Carolina. The development boasts an 18-hole Hale Irwin designed golf course, clubhouse, pool, tennis courts, playgrounds and parks, as well as more than 40 acres of natural area. The Corbetts’ 2,545-sq-ft house, set on 0.58 acres of land, was paid for in cash. Its estimated value is $350,000 (€312,000).

On a sunny evening on June 4, 2011, in Knoxville on the banks of the river Tennessee, Jason married Molly Martens. The venue was Bleak House, a historical confederate memorial hall.

Corbett family in new court battle to help Jason’s two young children
    January 6, 2016
    http://evoke.ie/news/irish-news/cour...or-magss-rings

The list includes hand and foot casts Mags and Jason Corbett made of the children soon after they were born, home videos of Jack’s second birthday and Sarah’s birth, Mag’s engagement ring and two eternity rings which had been ‘gifted’ to Sarah.

On January 5 a judge ordered that several items be given to the guardians.

In relation to Mags Corbett’s rings, the judge ordered that they were to be handed over to the lawyer for the estate of Jason Corbett to determine if they are the property of the estate.

Irishman dies in assault at his US home

The sheriff's office said the Limerick native, who was a fan of Munster Rugby and Liverpool Football Club, had died from blunt force trauma injuries he suffered during a domestic incident.
A spokesman for police said that no arrests had been made, and that "no one outside the home is being sought in this case".
"There are persons of interest within the family. We are currently still investigating and waiting for autopsy results," the spokesman said, adding that police were conferring with the Davidson County District Attorney's Office regarding the case.

Murder accused must return items taken from US home - Dated 9th March 2016

Molly Martens who is accused of killing her husband, Jason Corbett, has been ordered to return items she had taken from their US home after she was charged with the crime. The courts have given her 30 days to do so. It is reported that all that was left in the property following the clearout was cloths & items belonging to the children, cloths belonging to JC & items that JC had brought from Ireland.

    http://www.irishexaminer.com/ireland...me-386359.html

At a hearing on February 2, Ms Martens said agents acting on her behalf took the property from the home and that the items were either gifts to her or bought by herself or her parents. She argued that the items she had bought were paid for on a credit card registered solely in her name. However, the court found that the bills arising from the card were paid for by the couple’s joint account, which mostly contained funds earned by Mr Corbett.

The court also found that there was a “high probability” money transferred by Mr Corbett to Ms Martens and her parents was the source of payment for the items she and her parents had bought. The court ruled that “immediate and irreparable injury would have resulted to… the beneficiaries of the estate” if Ms Martens was allowed to take or sell the items.

    dated 13th January 2016

Molly Martens’s uncle is under investigation by his employers over claims he tried to get into Jason Corbett’s work-place office the day after the Limerick man died. The uncle, Mike Earnest, works for a US federal law enforcement authority called Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR).

Two senior internal affairs investigators from SIGAR are understood to have travelled from Washington to interview staff from Multi-Packing Solutions, where Mr Corbett worked.

Interview with MM ex Keith Maginn

On the 23rd April 2016, the Irish Daily Mail carried an interview with Keith Maginn in their paper. This is the man who MM was living with in the year before she departed for Ireland in March 2008. In 2011, he published a book talking about his struggle dealing with the situation, both his and MM struggles. When he published the book, he used the name Mary for Molly. Unfortunately it is not available on-line. The J4J facebook page however has screen snaps of the entire articles within the paper that day. You can view these on the following link.

Molly Martens tries to BLOCK interview given by Jason’s son in trial - article dated 27th June 2016

    http://evoke.ie/news/irish-news/moll...deo-interviews

Lawyers for Molly Martens have moved to prevent prosecutors using a video interview with Jason Corbett’s orphaned son as evidence in her trial for the murder of the father of two. Jack Corbett was interviewed by prosecutors in May via video link from the Limerick home he now shares with his aunt and uncle.

    ........

In documents filed in North Carolina this week, Ms Martens’s legal representatives allege that the May interview is ‘not trustworthy’ and is ‘inadmissible’ under the North Carolina rules of evidence.

In outlining the case to have the evidence ruled out, it is alleged that separately, both Jack and Sarah were interviewed on several occasions in August 2015 in North Carolina. Ms Martens is not contesting the admissibility of these particular interviews.

NC - Jason Corbett, murdered, 2 Aug 2015, Media Links, Documents Only - No Discussion

Appeals court upholds district judge's decision in custody case involving children of Irish man killed in Davidson County- December, 20 2016

In August, Superior Court Clerk Brian Shipwash granted guardianship to the children’s aunt and uncle, Tracey and David Lynch, who live in Ireland.

District Judge April Wood dismissed Molly Corbett’s request for custody. The appellate court said Tuesday that Wood’s decision was the right one. The mother of the children, Margaret Fitzpatrick Corbett, died of an asthma attack on Nov. 21, 2006.

The Lynches are happy with the court’s decision, their attorney, Kim Bonuomo, said Tuesday.
