    Bosma Murder Trial 03.02.16 - Day 18

This is the Bosma murder trial daily discussion thread. The trial daily discussion thread is for discussion of trial evidence/testimony only, not for general discussion, posts about past threads, other members, etc. Off-topic posts will be removed.

Note: Only testimony that is published through MSM reporting (articles and tweets) is allowed. Keep discussion focused on testimony as it becomes public knowledge and remember to link up to MSM reporting of same.

Any testimony that might remain under Publication Ban, and any courtroom discussion that takes place when the jury is not present, is strictly off-limits. Posts that violate a Publication Ban, or discussion when the jury is absent, will be removed.

At all times, keep in mind Websleuths TOS, so affectionately referred to as The Rules.

There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for snarky or disrespectful posts and/or subtle digs at other members. Mods will not be PMing you with explanations, you will find your post has disappeared, or that you can no longer post.

There is to be NO name calling or name variations, not even of the accused.

There is to be no BICKERING between members. A difference of opinion is NOT a TOS violation. Some will think one or both of the accused are guilty, some will think one or both are not guilty, and some will be on the fence. All of that is okay and should NOT BE ATTACKED. If you disagree, that's fine, move past the post. If a post is offensive, alert it and let the Mods review it. If you respond to the post, both the offensive post AND yours will be removed and may result in other consequences.

Other reminders for reference as we have respectful discussion in each of the daily trial discussion threads:

Abuse of the WS Alert feature can have consequences including timeout or worse. Such abuse includes, but is not limited to:

    • Overuse of the alert system

    • Repeatedly alerting on the same poster

    • Demanding a specific outcome

    • Alerting on the same post more than once

Once you have alerted on a post, please move on without discussing it, and don't question the decisions of our Administrators, Moderators or Owners, and don't expect personalized responses with explanations about a particular decision.

The principle of “innocent until proven guilty” is for the court room … it is not required that Websleuths members adhere to that principle. Members are allowed to discuss, speculate, theorize, and judge according to opinions they develop from following the specifics of the case.

If you have any questions, PM a Mod and we will be happy to assist you. The main Mods/Admin for this trial will be Bessie, Coldpizza, and sillybilly.

So with no pretrial, is the defense just seeing evidence now (like day to day) or did they know before the trial started?

They've seen it. But with no pre-trial these arguments are bound to happen.

Seeing list of details of Millard computer. Windows User account is "Dellen."

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
First is shown in a photo - a tower style computer found in basement rec room of Millard's Etobicoke home.

Computer registered as "Dellen." No password assigned. Often the case if only one person using computer.

The computer was registered to "Dellen" (also the user account). No password required to log on (common, Falconer says, w one user)

Thanks to snow that Hamilton got last night, today's proceedings start at 11:30 a.m.
    by Adam Carter 9:12 AM

We're in the courtroom now. Not nearly as full in the body of the court this morning thanks to the snow -- presumably people are still shovelling.
    by Adam Carter 11:22 AM

Justice Goodman is here. The jury is being recalled.
    by Adam Carter 11:30 AM

Spoke too soon - some legal arguments happening now.
    by Adam Carter 11:35 AM

Okay, now the jury and the witness are being recalled. Underway in moments.
    by Adam Carter 11:43 AM

Forensic computer expert Jim Falconer is returning to the witness box.
    by Adam Carter 11:44 AM

We're starting with a powerpoint presentation that Falconer created.
    by Adam Carter 11:45 AM

Four computers and one USB hard drive are included in this presentation.
    by Adam Carter 11:46 AM

The first device was found at Millard's residence at 5 Maple Gate Court in Toronto.
    by Adam Carter 11:47 AM

It's a tower CPU that was found in a basement rec room.
    by Adam Carter 11:47 AM

This tower CPU was using Windows 7, and it was registered as "Dellen," which was also the Windows user account name. No password was required to log in, and the date and time was accurate. Windows updates were automatically installing and Antivirus was installed.
    by Adam Carter 11:50 AM

The computer had a 500 GB hard drive.
    by Adam Carter 11:50 AM

There was some adware on the computer, but the worst it would do was some ads would pop up while browsing online.
    by Adam Carter 11:55 AM

When the Millard computer starts up, it automatically loads gaming software from Steam. Steam is a video game account famous for popular games like "Counter Strike." The Steam account's user name was "Stealthmissions."
