    Bosma Murder Trial 03.03.16 - Day 19

This is the Bosma murder trial daily discussion thread. The trial daily discussion thread is for discussion of trial evidence/testimony only, not for general discussion, posts about past threads, other members, etc. Off-topic posts will be removed.

Note: Only testimony that is published through MSM reporting (articles and tweets) is allowed. Keep discussion focused on testimony as it becomes public knowledge and remember to link up to MSM reporting of same.

Any testimony that might remain under Publication Ban, and any courtroom discussion that takes place when the jury is not present, is strictly off-limits. Posts that violate a Publication Ban, or discussion when the jury is absent, will be removed.

At all times, keep in mind Websleuths TOS, so affectionately referred to as The Rules.

There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for snarky or disrespectful posts and/or subtle digs at other members. Mods will not be PMing you with explanations, you will find your post has disappeared, or that you can no longer post.

There is to be NO name calling or name variations, not even of the accused.

There is to be no BICKERING between members. A difference of opinion is NOT a TOS violation. Some will think one or both of the accused are guilty, some will think one or both are not guilty, and some will be on the fence. All of that is okay and should NOT BE ATTACKED. If you disagree, that's fine, move past the post. If a post is offensive, alert it and let the Mods review it. If you respond to the post, both the offensive post AND yours will be removed and may result in other consequences.

Other reminders for reference as we have respectful discussion in each of the daily trial discussion threads:

Abuse of the WS Alert feature can have consequences including timeout or worse. Such abuse includes, but is not limited to:

    • Overuse of the alert system

    • Repeatedly alerting on the same poster

    • Demanding a specific outcome

    • Alerting on the same post more than once

Once you have alerted on a post, please move on without discussing it, and don't question the decisions of our Administrators, Moderators or Owners, and don't expect personalized responses with explanations about a particular decision.

The principle of “innocent until proven guilty” is for the court room … it is not required that Websleuths members adhere to that principle. Members are allowed to discuss, speculate, theorize, and judge according to opinions they develop from following the specifics of the case.

If you have any questions, PM a Mod and we will be happy to assist you. The main Mods/Admin for this trial will be Bessie, Coldpizza, and sillybilly.

Justice Goodman is now in the courtroom, and legal arguments are underway. I'll let everyone know when the jury is in and I can report on what's happening. In the meantime, I'll post some photos from the mountain of exhibitions we received yesterday.

it's just so strange the involvement this girl has (CN)...why on earth would she be interested in having a picture of a gun sent to her? Was she a gun collector? Was this part of her ART? Staged photo for something?

As I'm looking at the photos of the house, there seems to be a strange disconnect in style/decorating. The only uniting factor is the mess in every room.

The basement paneling looks like it's painted black and the carpet is black, with 80s-looking sconces. Maybe it was done as a party room, or movie theatre type space?

The master bedroom looks like someone actually cared about it at one point. Nice, updated mouldings and colour, with pictures on the walls (I'm actually shocked that the frames are all hung straight - doesn't fit with the unkept look).

Then the main floor office is a mishmash of 60s/70s furniture with nothing on the walls (but the moulding and floors seem to be updated).

    MOO of course.

I'm laughing that David Banks is back on the stand- wonder if Dungey is going to have the same bedside manner as he had with Banks' partner? MOO

This photo was also recovered from Smich's iPad. Yesterday, retired OPP officer Falconer showed it to compare a mole on the finger in this shot with a mole on the finger of a man holding a gun in another photo.

This is a screen grab of a video that showed the Eliminator that was found on one of Millard's computers. The metadata shows it was shot near the MIllardAir Hangar.

This morning's legal arguments have finished, so we expect to be underway at 10 a.m.
    by Adam Carter 9:55 AM

Retired OPP identification officer David Banks will return to the witness box this morning to continue his testimony.
    by Adam Carter 10:00 AM

The jury is now being recalled.
    by Adam Carter 10:05 AM

Assistant Crown asking Banks about May 16, and the examination of Tim Bosma's truck.
    by Adam Carter 10:08 AM

Banks says no one examining the truck was wearing a firearm, because they didn't want to cross contaminate the scene for gunshot residue.
    by Adam Carter 10:08 AM

The investigators were wearing Tyvek suits, he says.
    by Adam Carter 10:09 AM

All exhibits in the case were handed off to Hamilton police, and they decided what went for forensic analysis, Banks says.
    by Adam Carter 10:11 AM

Each sample was in its own individual packaging as to avoid cross contamination.
    by Adam Carter 10:12 AM

The smashed passenger side window was wrapped with cardboard.

A laser was used looking for fingerprints on the outside of the truck, Banks says, but they weren't successful.
    by Adam Carter 10:14 AM

Jury now hearing again about heating crazy glue used so vapours could make fingerprints in the trailer more visible.

May 21 & 29, 2013 Banks packaged & transported exhibits to @HamiltonPolice. Each sample in its own sealed package so no cross-contamination.

May 16 did laser exam of truck exterior looking for prints. But unsuccessful. Used fingerprint powder instead.

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 7m7 minutes ago
Added chemical like KrazyGlue to inside of trailer, vaporized it so it would stick to prints. #Bosma Found a backpack in trailer.
