Lauderdale County, Alabama -
A popular cover band that regularly plays in College Station has cancelled its show for Thursday night because the bass player and his brother are missing.

The Velcro Pygmies were set to play at The Tap, but Jacob Sanders and his brother, Jeremiah, have not been located after the two took a fishing trip in Lauderdale County, Alabama

Wednesday.

Early Thursday morning, search teams found the brothers' boat on the Tennessee River, according to CBS affiliate WHNT in Huntsville, Alabama.

The Velcro Pygmies "leads the crowd on a roller coaster trip through the 80s, with occasional detours into country and R&B," according to the band's website, which adds that the band

plays some 200 venues each year.

"Our Jacob Sanders and his brother Jeremiah need all your prayers and positive thoughts while rescue teams search for them in Alabama after their boat was found without them

aboard," according to a post on the band's Facebook page. "We have a lot of LOVE in this FAMILY and now is the time to make that LOVE known loud and clear that we need these boys

HOME."

Ughhhh this sounds like it's going to have a tragic ending...

I've shared this within our music community, hopefully some are close enough to help with the search.

Jacob in his own words...

The Facebook for the band is reporting it is now a recovery effort. The area they are presumably found in is extremely close to the dam and they are trying to coordinate shutting down the dam as the divers go in to recover the brothers. I'm not seeing any MSM on this fact yet. https://m.facebook.com/thevelcropygmies/

from the link above..."“At about 5pm Friday the K9 Unit signaled on a location in the river where they believe Jacob and Jeremiah to be.

They are in about 8 feet of water. The recovery mission has become increasingly challenging due to this location’s proximity to the dam. In order for the divers to reach them the TVA has to shut down the turbines in the dam.”...

It sounds as if they have been found...? :(

Was the weather bad the day they went fishing? And wash't the boat found with hull damage as if it hit something?

Any updates? It's been almost a week since they went missing. How big is the body of water where they were? Do they think the bodies are trapped under water?

How Very sad!

The K9 unit signaled on that location FIVE days ago. What's the hold up? The poor family :(

Just checked their FB page -

"Here we are at day number eight and the search continues. I apologize for the lack of updates yesterday, but there was nothing whatsoever to report. We are headed back to the launch site now and I promise to do better today updating everyone."

One of the band members has been posting videos, what a great bunch of guys. Really heartfelt and genuine messages.

PS: I'm not familiar with these kinds of searches, is it normal for it to be such a problem?
