Officials began their search about 2 p.m. Monday off US25W near the Clearfork River just south of the turnoff for Pleasant View Elementary School.

Whitley County Emergency Management Director Danny Moses responded to the scene along with Kentucky Emergency Management Regional Director Jerry Rains, Whitley County Sheriff’s deputies, Constable Dorman Patrick and several volunteer firefighters from numerous departments, including Williamsburg Fire and Rescue, Woodbine Search and Rescue, Emlyn and Pleasant View volunteer fire departments.

In addition, Knott County Rough Terrain Rescue and Bloodhound Search and Rescue of Tennessee are continuing search efforts that have included at least two search dogs and at least one boat that officials put into the river Monday afternoon.

The Williamsburg Police Department and Whitley Co. E911 are assisting in the investigation.
