WCSD issued a “golden alert” for Joel S. Moses, 48, on Monday. Moses’ family notified deputies that they were concerned about his safety. His vehicle was found unattended along Highway 25 in the Pleasant View community. His family told deputies that requires medication.

He was last seen wearing blue or black jeans, a t-shirt and tennis shoes. He is described as being 5’9″ tall, around 165 pounds in weight, with blue eyes and brown hair. Moses has a full sleeve tattooed on his right arm and the tattoo of a panther on his upper left arm.

Officials began their search about 2 p.m. Monday off US25W near the Clearfork River just south of the turnoff for Pleasant View Elementary School.

Whitley County Emergency Management Director Danny Moses responded to the scene along with Kentucky Emergency Management Regional Director Jerry Rains, Whitley County Sheriff’s deputies, Constable Dorman Patrick and several volunteer firefighters from numerous departments, including Williamsburg Fire and Rescue, Woodbine Search and Rescue, Emlyn and Pleasant View volunteer fire departments.

In addition, Knott County Rough Terrain Rescue and Bloodhound Search and Rescue of Tennessee are continuing search efforts that have included at least two search dogs and at least one boat that officials put into the river Monday afternoon.

The Williamsburg Police Department and Whitley Co. E911 are assisting in the investigation.

Missing Man's Body Recovered In Whitley County

The Whitley County Sheriff's Department confirms they have found the body of a man who has been missing since March 7th.

According to deputies, firefighters found the body of 48-year-old Joel S. Moses just before 11:30 Saturday morning among debris in the Clearfork River. The body was found about one mile away from where a Moses' truck was found unattended.

RIP Joel.
