Kenneth L. Powers Jr., 35, who is being held at the Indiana State Prison on burglary and other charges, allegedly told authorities last week that he killed two women in Madison County and two in Florida about five years ago.

Sources close to the case told RTV6 that Powers claimed to have picked up two women from a Pilot truck stop off State Road 67, brought them to a Chesterfield park and then killed them.

Authorities said Powers gave descriptions of the women. One was described as a Hispanic female in her mid-20s who was 5 feet 5 inches tall, weighed 100 pounds and had shoulder-length brown hair. The other, named Lisha, was described as having blond hair, being 5 feet 5 inches or 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighing about 100 pounds. She had a tattoo of a red rose and ribbon on her upper left arm, police said.

With his polygraph test rescheduled for Friday, police gear up in case Kenneth Powers is, as he claims, a serial killer.

Madison County Sheriff Terry Richwine says, "We have no reason to disbelieve him on one hand, but on the other hand, we also have no evidence to corroborate his story."

The 35-year-old Powers, serving a 40-year prison sentence, last week told Indiana prison officials that he killed two women from Indiana and two women from Florida five years ago, burying one Indiana victim in Anderson and the other in Chesterfield.

Authorities say an Indiana State Prison inmate who has confessed to killing four women in Indiana and Florida has passed several lie-detector tests.

Thirty-Five-year-old Kenneth L- Powers Junior has told authorities he killed two women in the Anderson area in 2000 and two others near Pensacola, Florida, in 1999.
Madison County Sheriff Terry Richwine says polygraph exams administered yesterday by the Indianapolis Police Department indicate Powers is telling the truth.

Authorities in Santa Rosa County, Florida, have asked Indiana investigators to conduct a videotaped interview with Powers on information about the Florida killings.
