(KSDK) Tristen Owens, the two year old Wentzville toddler was found by a four man search team shortly after 1am Tuesday morning. Over 150 police and rescue personnel searched a wide wooden area near the Bedford Falls subdivision near Highway 61, in Wentzville.

The child disappeared around 5 o'clock Monday afternoon. His mother says she was planting flowers, looked up and realized her son and the family dog were missing. The dog returned without the child.

Police did not suspect foul play. They believe the child simply wandered off.

The child was located about one and a half to two miles Southeast of where Tristen lived. Searchers heard coyotes howling, and found the toddler. He was re-united with his family. Authorities say the two year old suffered only some minor scrapes and bug bites. He is being treated at a local hospital.

A Moscow Mills police officer, along with two firefighters from Wentzville and Lake St. Louis located the boy.

Scott Avery, with the O'Fallon Fire Protection District says the area is surrounded by fields, rolling hills, and new subdivisions. Authorities plan to release more information during a news conference Tuesday morning.
