SEATTLE (Reuters) - An Oregon woman whose doctor convinced her that he could cure her lower back pain by having sex with her is suing him and his medical clinic for $4 million, according to legal documents obtained on Monday.

The doctor, Randall Smith, who was 50 at the time, was stripped of his license and sent to jail for 60 days last year for charging the state's Oregon Health Plan $5,000 for his 45-minute "treatments" involving the woman.

Ick! That story reminded me of this nasty doctor I went to when I was 19 (got referred to him from Family Planning - apparently, he had the contract to do all their exams for birth control). I was sitting on the exam table and his breast exam consisted of grabbing one breast in each hand, fondling them and saying, "They feel okay to me." He had a nasty smile on his face the whole time. I was young & dumb, but I told my Mother, who was a nurse, and she raised a huge stink! After that, Family Planning clients were allowed to choose their own doctor for exams.

Well no doubt this Dr needed to loose his license. But really people, how STUPID was this woman really. You know, crack don't smoke itself. I'll say it again, what an idiot!

Another big question: Why would the State of Oregon pay a Dr. $5,000 for a 45 minute "treatment" without question? I'm sure Dr. Quack has indulged in this behavior before. I feel they need to be held liable for insurance fraud and investigation too. A can of worms may have discovered. Some surgeries cost less than this.

There is something wrong in Denmark here kids.

Drs., insurance companies, etc. Wonder why the health costs today are sky rocketing. :liar: $5,000.00 for a back treatment. An escort-- I think could have provided dinner, a back rub, then sex for this woman...... We wonder why people with injuries sue and the lawsuits against physicians are capped in some states. Alot to consider here.

Glad the quack is off the practicing board though.

For 5K I am sure you could spend about 5 days with an escort...........

Oh by the way.....how stupid some people are, never, and I mean never ceases to amaze me.........

45 minute treatments???? I don't think so.

This reminds me of the story not long ago about the guy who set up an examining table in a warehouse and claimed to be a gynecologist providing inexpensive exams. Frugal women couldn't get there fast enough.

Its always the idiots like this woman who end up with million dollar settlements.

That's because most women with half a brain would have told him to *advertiser censored** off and walk out.

It's the idiots these men feed on - the gullible ones. :slap:
