Police dig up Woodridge property over toddler missing nearly a decade

Police are digging up a backyard south of Brisbane as part of investigations into the disappearance of a New South Wales toddler.
It is understood a family with a number of children lived at the Woodridge address in Logan until 2007, before moving to New South Wales.
Police said one of their lines of inquiry would be whether the child met with foul play.

The ABC has been told NSW Family and Community Services (FACS) notified NSW Police, raising concerns about the welfare of the missing child.

Seems like the family are not co-operating. Damn, all these years. Poor little boy. Not a single family member reported him missing?
At least someone from FACS did their research, asked questions and is following through, they cared! Thank you.

Anything more on this yet? Did they find anything at that address.

Wonder if parents were very distant and never spoke to their other relatives and all of this time they thought the little boy was okay. Then something finally happened, like a surprise visit? This is awful.

I suspect that this case may have come to light when they were trying to identify Khandalyce's remains..........

I heard a news report that mentioned the child was placed with the family and not the child of the couple.

This article says that the toddler was living with 'extended family' in Qld. His immediate family reported him missing to FACS in NSW, and FACS then pursued the matter with the NSW police, who in turn contacted the Qld police.
It also says that Ch 7 reported that the forensic material is bone fragments, but police would not confirm that.

The article seems to have taken its info from a variety of other MSM sources, from what I can see.

Those last two articles linked by Rayemonde ^^^ make it sound as though something dire has happened to Baden, so the family moved to another state and continued to collect Centrelink benefits for him, perhaps.

7 News Queensland reported last night "that the bone fragments found at the former home of the missing NSW toddler, Baden Bond, are not human. Police pathologists concluded that the bone fragments are from a dog" (ie. most likely deceased family pet buried in yard?). From the newscast ..... "His mother has failed to tell police where he is".

"Although the NSW Homicide Squad is taking the lead on the investigation for the moment it is only listed as a missing person’s case.
There is no evidence to suggest the boy is dead.
Equally, there is no evidence to suggest he is alive either."

Police believe Queensland toddler who vanished in 2007 was likely murdered

Det. Insp. Hansen said Baden had been in the care of his parents at the time of his disappearance. Baden was last seen at his Woodridge home on March 24, 2007, before his family moved to New South Wales in August that year.

Police also confirmed bones had been found in the backyard of the family's former Woodridge home during a forensic search a year ago.
But Det. Insp. Hansen said he believed it would be another few months before the lab came back with the results about whether they were human bones.

This is horrific. How can a child go missing without anyone noticing for so many years. I'm actually speechless. Poor little Baden.

Oh poor little fellow.
I just can't work out how a child goes missing and no one notices for 10 years...
So very sad.
Such a short life.
