Police locked down the U.S. Capitol complex on Monday after a police officer was shot, officials said.

"Shooter has been caught," the Capitol's Sergeant At Arms reported. "One police officer shot, but not seriously."

Roads near the visitor center were shut down and nobody was being allowed to enter of exit the buildings, officials said.

"If you are outside, seek cover," the alert said.

Male suspect was shot by Capitol police. He is in hospital. Can't wait to hear who the shooter was. Was he a random whack job? Or a lone wolf terrorist?

United States Capitol Police have reportedly charged a man named Larry Dawson with unlawful conduct and assault on a police officer after an outburst in the U.S. House chamber Thursday afternoon. In between a few congressmen speaking, Dawson was heard shouting that he is a "prophet of God." He was escorted away by police, which likely led to the violent incident for which he is being charged.

Oh, ok, random whack job. I am glad it was not an organized terror plot. It would have been much much worse. It was kind of a 'fire drill' for the Capitol Police then.
