This is the Bosma murder trial daily discussion thread. The trial daily discussion thread is for discussion of trial evidence/testimony only, not for general discussion, posts about past threads, other members, etc. Off-topic posts will be removed.

Note: Only testimony that is published through MSM reporting (articles and tweets) is allowed. Keep discussion focused on testimony as it becomes public knowledge and remember to link up to MSM reporting of same.

Any testimony that might remain under Publication Ban, and any courtroom discussion that takes place when the jury is not present, is strictly off-limits. Posts that violate a Publication Ban, or discussion when the jury is absent, will be removed.

At all times, keep in mind Websleuths TOS, so affectionately referred to as The Rules.

There will be ZERO TOLERANCE for snarky or disrespectful posts and/or subtle digs at other members. Mods will not be PMing you with explanations, you will find your post has disappeared, or that you can no longer post.

There is to be NO name calling or name variations, not even of the accused.

There is to be no BICKERING between members. A difference of opinion is NOT a TOS violation. Some will think one or both of the accused are guilty, some will think one or both are not guilty, and some will be on the fence. All of that is okay and should NOT BE ATTACKED. If you disagree, that's fine, move past the post. If a post is offensive, alert it and let the Mods review it. If you respond to the post, both the offensive post AND yours will be removed and may result in other consequences.

Other reminders for reference as we have respectful discussion in each of the daily trial discussion threads:

Abuse of the WS Alert feature can have consequences including timeout or worse. Such abuse includes, but is not limited to:

• Overuse of the alert system

• Repeatedly alerting on the same poster

• Demanding a specific outcome

• Alerting on the same post more than once

Once you have alerted on a post, please move on without discussing it, and don't question the decisions of our Administrators, Moderators or Owners, and don't expect personalized responses with explanations about a particular decision.

The principle of “innocent until proven guilty” is for the court room … it is not required that Websleuths members adhere to that principle. Members are allowed to discuss, speculate, theorize, and judge according to opinions they develop from following the specifics of the case.

If you have any questions, PM a Mod and we will be happy to assist you. The main Mods/Admin for this trial will be Bessie, Coldpizza, and sillybilly.

The Tim Bosma trial resumes Monday in Hamilton with more testimony from Shane Schlatman, the last employee on the books at MillardAir, the company owned by Dellen Millard, one of two men accused of murder in the death of Bosma.

On Thursday the jury heard that Millard and Schlatman had a nickname for the livestock incinerator in which human bones were found on his farm in Ayr, Ont. — The BBQ.

Wonder if this is CN and the undisclosed item they found in her bedroom? We know of the DVR, letters from DM and something else.

We only know about the letters from the Crown's opening statement. We know that LE found the DVR and something else in CN's bedroom. The something else is the letters.

Millard gave Schlatman the entire hangar at Pearson to tend to Millard's "hobbies." His vehicles.

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 1m1 minute ago
He also got a raise. He says he made $21 an hour at his old employer and $31 an hour working for Millard. #TimBosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
When he started at Millardair his pay increased by 30%. He had an entire hangar to work on Dellen Millard's "hobbies." #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 35s35 seconds ago
Work was for DM not Millardair. It was run through a company, to no benefit of the company, correct? Dungey asks. Schlatman agrees. #Bosma

Lisa Hepfner ‏@HefCHCHNews 1m1 minute ago
Schlatman agrees most of his work in 40k sq ft Pearson hangar was for #Millard hobby vehicles

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 40s40 seconds ago
"That's a pretty posh job, no?" Dungey asks. "Yes sir," Schlatman says. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 34s34 seconds ago
Most vehicles Schlatman dealt with were Millard's personal vehicles. At Waterloo, he had a corner of the hangar. "Posh job," says Dungey.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 14s14 seconds ago
Dungey suggests they developed quite a relationship. Jury's heard Schlatman and Millard planned to build dream homes on same farm. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 21s21 seconds ago
Schlatman agrees, yes. But nothing ever came of it. #Bosma

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 16s16 seconds ago
Schlatman agrees with Dungey he had "a pretty posh job" "fixing vehicles and doing oil changes for one customer." #TimBosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 18s19 seconds ago
"It's a complete and utter fantasy, isn't it?" Dungey asks. Schlatman agrees nothing comes of the farm. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 5s6 seconds ago
Schlatman and Millard were both going to build dream homes at Millard farm. "A complete and utter fantasy by Dellen Millard," says Dungey.

I really hope Dungey nails him on the "just casual friends" BS. One good reason they're being tried separately.

Dungey refers to Schlatman's gig with Millard as "a pretty posh job."
by Adam Carter 10:44 AM

Dungey says the two must have formed "quite a relationship" considering the two had plans to "build their dream homes" at Millard's farm. "But nothing ever came of those homes -- because it's a complete and utter fantasy. A fantasy created by Dellen Millard," Dungey says. Schlatman agrees.
by Adam Carter 10:45 AM

"He would sort of just go out on a limb and say these things and do these things," Dungey says, while pointing out the excavator Millard bought and then burned out the engine in. "Just like a spoiled boy going out there and doing whatever he wants with a $60,000 piece of equipment," Dungey says.
by Adam Carter 10:46 AM

Pillay objects to that characterization.
by Adam Carter 10:48 AM --- Adam, editted it to: Millard's lawyer Ravin Pillay objects to that characterization.

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 4s5 seconds ago
Dungey says DM purchased an excavator. But nothing came of it. "You were dreaming." Schlatman agrees. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 1m1 minute ago
Re: excavator in swamp, Dungey suggests Millard went out "just like a spoiled boy" and did whatever he wants. #Bosma

Susan Clairmont ‏@susanclairmont 1m1 minute ago
Excavator bought for $60,000 but never used for dream home. Millard " a spoiled boy," says Dungey. Wrecking his equipment. #Bosma

molly hayes ‏@mollyhayes 58s59 seconds ago
Pillay objects to that characterization. Dungey rephrases--suggests he acted without care. Schlatman agrees. #Bosma

Colin Butler ‏@ColinButlerCBC 1m1 minute ago
Dungey likens Dellen Millard to "a spoiled boy" in his attitude with spending money on excavators and a trip to Baja. #TimBosma
