Police are searching for a former Kansas Jayhawks football player was reported missing on Monday.

This story hits close to home since I grew up just miles away from Lawrence, KS. KU holds a special place in my heart. That being said, there seems to be very little information about Brandon. I don't do FB but those of you that do, what is the video that was posted shortly before he went missing??

The text at 7:30 pm on the 2nd was the last communication but could someone else have sent that text and if so, when was the last time he was actually seen in person?

He's from my hometown.

We just went through a high-profile missing person case here in Columbus. Hoping Brandon is found safe. This is happening all too frequently.

Oh my goodness! We were thinking the same thing at the same time. I may be wrong but looking through photos over the last few years he appears to look much different, almost a metamorphosis.

Hey, just wondering where you read about a text?

I'm not finding much information about the last time he was seem or heard from, other than it was on Saturday, April 2nd.

I think it's especially concerning that he seemed to be posting to Facebook at least daily (sometimes even four or five times in a day), but hasn't even been reachable since Saturday. It makes it even less likely that he took off or disappeared without a cell phone or other communication device.

I do still know people who's cell phones live in the bottom of their purses, even if it's the only means of communication they have. But this guy doesn't seem the type to spend much time away from technology, or even people, for that matter.

Here's hoping he's found safe soon!

I live in Saint louis and met Joey when I was in Columbus, I was just thinking the same thing when I saw this about Brandon on the news tonight. Lets hope this turns out better then it did for poor Joey Labute

If you look at some of his last fb posts, one of his friends made a comment. If you go to the page of that friend, he has an interesting post about Brandon's disappearance. Hopefully I'm making sense!

I found the friend you are referring to. He has two interesting posts. It's sounds as though Brandon may have disappeared by his own means, and possibly doesn't want to be found.

I really hope he's okay, and that's he not trying to harm himself!

some background info:

Bourbon was a running back at Kansas from 2010-14 before transferring to play at Washburn University in Topeka last season. He came to the Jayhawks as the No. 6 player in the state of Missouri out of Potosi (Mo.) High. However, he suffered several knee injuries and was never able to make a quality impact on the field.

In February, Bourbon said he hoped to start an athletic training business near his hometown.

I am getting a weird vibe from the guy Brandon supposedly spent every day of the past 2 weeks with. He's some sort of life coach with some ultrachristian organization. Feels cultish to me. I don't like the post that basically says, 'I know where he is, but you wouldn't understand'. I hope this "friend" has shared any information he has with the police.
