Mitchell Gibson, 27, was seen at the 7-Eleven convenience store in Calhoun Falls before his disappearance.

Gibson was also spotted fishing at the Highway 72 bridge and said he sent a text at some point saying he was catching bait near Manor Creek Landing.

Gibson's jacket, cellphone and two of his three life jackets were found between markers 14 and 16.

His boat, still missing, is a green 24-foot SeaArk.

Gibson's truck and trailer were later found at Beer Garden Boat Ramp.

Oh this doesn't sound promising.

Missing boaters family wants changes in boating laws
As the family continues to pray for answers, they want to see changes made to the laws of boating so this doesn't happen to another family. They do not want a commercial fisherman left to himself on a boat.

"We want to see something done, a law drawn up to where commercial fisherman have at least one other person in the boat because it's dangerous whether you fishing professionally or on your own," Angie Gibson said.

"I will not stop until it is done, until I know there are extra people on boats, there should never be one person on a boat," Leslie Gibson said.

I hope if anyone knows anything that they will help bring this gentleman and daddy home! My thoughts and prayers are with Mitchell and his family tonight.

A search will be occurring on Saturday -

Lake Russell isn't huge. It's not possible from the lake to make it to the coast and out to other places. His vehicle and the trailer were still at the dock. And chances of the boat sinking unless something catastrophic broke it apart are slim to none. The longer this goes, the more I'm leaning towards foul play with the boat being stolen and either hidden at a closed dock on the lake or put on another trailer and taken away from the lake.

Yes, it's not a "clean" lake, in that there are a lot of tree stumps and things that can grab a body to prevent it from coming up, but we're talking about a boat AND a person.

Exactly. It is Mitchell, as well as his "24-foot aluminum boat with a 600-gallon tank" that's missing. If not for someone concealing it intentionally, I would think that the boat -if not Mitchell ...- would have been found by now.

When the last picture he took with his cell phone is fully expanded, I'm nearly certain I see the outline of the front or back of a small boat. Fishing line is also visible reflecting from the flash of the phone in the lower left, extending from his boat. I find it highly alarming that there has been an absolute denial by the authorities that he (and his boat!) are not on that lake, especially since they've apparently had this photo for possibly over a month.

I get the bad feeling that Mitchell knew something bad may happen, leading him to take the photo.

His phone was found between markers 14 and 16, according to the above information. Does that mean it was found on land at that area?

His family has posted a picture that was taken late in the evening when he went missing. This picture was taken from his phone. In the picture, it looks like a boat is coming toward him, shining its light on him.

If his phone was found on land, then that would seem to indicate that he was not in his boat when he went missing.

Thank you Carolina Girl.
And thank you to the people that brought the boat from Idaho, I believe. It had advanced sidescanning sonar that was used to help find the body.
