KS - Rebecka Lorentsen, ?, Donald Lorentsen, 15, Ember Schultz, 7, Salina 31 Mar 2016

    http://www.kake.com/home/headlines/S...374961701.html

Salina KS police are looking for a mother and her two children who did not arrive at Salina South High School for an event on March 31st, and never returned home. The mother's age isn't listed, and I had to crunch the thread title together to fit everything.

Their route from the home to the school isn't exactly complicated:

Rebecka L. Lorentsen, also known as Rebecka Swatsenbarg, and her two children, 15-year-old Donald Lorentsen and 7-year-old Ember Schultz were last seen between 6 and 6:30 p.m. March 31.

At that time, they were leaving home in the 1400 block of South 9th Street to go to a school function at Salina South High School. They were going to ride a City Go bus to the school, but they did not arrive at the school and did not return home, according to the police department information.

A couple of thoughts, just thinking out loud...

*I am not sure about in Salina, but I know the public buses here have security cameras. If they do, my first question would be did they ever board a bus (& if they did, obviously the follow-up question would be where did they get off?). Guessing there are also some sort of CCTV cameras along their route to the school. Were they captured on any of those?

*I thought about the possibility of them accepting a ride from someone (most likely at least an acquaintance) with ill intentions. Always a possibility, but abducting a grown woman, a teen boy (who is similar to an adult re: strength) and a young girl would be difficult; especially if it was a crime of opportunity and not premeditated.

I think their last name is actually spelled "Lorensten", as shown in the image. The article being spread around through media has two letters transposed.

The Salina Police Department has also posted about them on their Facebook page

(I hope this doesn't come out wrong or sound snotty) Personally, I'm not really into sleuthing social media and such, but for those that are, there are a few comments here that might be of some interest and lead somewhere!

The son's Facebook page will not pop up when you search for it (by the name that that person suggests) so he obviously has it restricted to not appear to anyone but friends of his friends.

Something seems strange about the whole story.

The mom's FB page says she lives in Kansas City. https://www.facebook.com/rswatsenbar...friends.search (Warning: Explicit photo at this link)

The son has two FB pages and they are both private. https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100010402248085 and https://www.facebook.com/donald.lorentsen.3 You would need to be his friend to see any comments.

I think the person referenced with the hyphenated name might be the father.

Is it just me, but how many people need two or three Facebook pages? Do you forget your password that often?

OK, so that is who the person is referencing at the Salina PD page (rather than the son, which I assumed).

The son apparently attends the Salina South school, according to this link -

I see it quite often, but I think it's mostly kids that do that for some reason. My son did the same thing and never got a straight answer out of why he did it. Maybe they have one when they are younger and when they get older in school they want to appear more grown up or something and the first one has more "childish" type of content.----who knows
