Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

Albert Gene Hunsaker II, of Carson Estates, was arrested for Chaney's death after he was picked up and interviewed by New Mexico State Police Wednesday.

Police were first tipped off to new information in the case Monday, when a state police detective was contacted by a California detective, who said a man named Clayton Jones had said during an investigation into a murder in California that he had also killed Chaney...

According to the criminal complaint, the three had a few drinks and drove to a ridge near the Petaca River bed, where Jones allegedly beat Chaney and tried to choke her... Jones then wrapped a winch wire around her neck, told Hunsaker to turn it on, and then started driving through the brush, dragging her to death.
    Her remains not yet located.

Hunsaker told police Jones had threatened to kill his family if he did not help Jones with the murder, the statement says.
