Rizwan Dhanani was last seen around 2 a.m. on April 1 leaving a Dairy Queen in Auburn at 220 15th St. N.E., where he works.

Earlier, shortly after 1 a.m., firefighters responded to an explosive fire at a Redmond restaurant Dhanani reportedly owns, Celtic Bayou, at 7281 West Lake Sammamish Parkway N.E.
The blaze significantly damaged the restaurant. No one was injured. A man was seen leaving the area shortly after the fire. Investigators believe the blaze was intentionally set.

Redmond police say they are concerned for the well-being of Dhanani, a man who they say may have information on the fire. Police do not consider him a suspect in the arson.

Relatives of Dhanani told investigators they last heard from him around 11 p.m. on March 31, adding that he is without his usual vehicle, cell phone and jacket. His wallet was also found in the vehicle with his ID.

Dhanani is East Indian, about 5 feet 9, 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. He was reportedly last seen wearing a brown sweater, light-blue jeans and yellow tennis shoes.

There seems to be a 2018 legal case with Dairy Queen as the plaintiff and Rizwan as the defendant, but I don't know what it's about. I don't have any legal expertise so perhaps someone who does have that can take a look at this and help explain if it's relevant.

Details of disappearance updated:

Rizwan Mansur Dhanani – The Charley Project

At 1:00 a.m. on April 1, 2016, firefighters responded to an explosive fire at Dhanani's restaurant, the Celtic Bayou, in the 7200 block of west Lake Sammamish Parkway northeast in Redmond, Washington. There was significant damage to the restaurant, but no injuries, and the blaze didn't spread to any other buildings. Investigators believe the fire was arson and noted a man was seen leaving the scene shortly after it started.

Dhanani was at work at an Auburn, Washington Dairy Queen restaurant until 2:00 a.m. on April 1. At 5:00 a.m., the police went to his home to interview him about the fire. Later that day he went to the Redmond police station to provide more information.

He disappeared later that day and has never been heard from again. His vehicle was found abandoned in front of the Dairy Queen where he worked, with his wallet and identification locked inside, and he also left his cellular phone and jacket behind.

Investigators stated Dhanani isn't a suspect in the restaurant fire, but they think he could have information about it and they're concerned for his welfare. His family hasn't heard from him since 11:00 p.m. on March 31, when he told them he planned to work at the Dairy Queen for a few more hours. His case remains unsolved.

From my internet research:
10/28/2006 - purchases home with wife Shyna Dhanani
3/31/2016 11:00 p.m. Spoke to family - likely called from work (Dairy Queen that he worked at was owned by his family)
4/1/2016 1:00 a.m.- One of his family's restaurants blows up
4/1/2016 2:00 a.m. - Seen approximately this time leaving Dairy Queen
4/1/2016 5:00 a.m. - Police show up at his house to interview him about the fire
4/1/2016 unknown time - Filed his statement with the police at the police office
9/30/2017 - ASARA 12458 files for bankruptcy Case number: 2:17-bk-14321 - ASARA 12458 LLC - Washington Western Bankruptcy Court
1/16/2018 - Dairy Queen files against ASARA 12458 (owned by Shyna Dhanani) to essentially end the franchise relationship (I am guessing money problems/nonpayment of franchise fees and dues?
12/3/2018 - Company ASARA 12458 officially ceases to exist

Why didn't family see him on 4/1/2016? Did he live separately from his wife? Were they already having money troubles before the restaurant blew up? Is he even still missing? There hasn't been anything else in the news that I can find except the initial article. Was the person who caused the arson at the restaurant ever caught?
