TX - Police: Man in trunk pulled lights, hoping for help, Pasco
A man abducted and locked in a car trunk may have saved himself by pulling the vehicle's taillights, which caught the attention of a passing deputy, authorities said.
Wendel Prestridge, 21, of Lakeland, was found beaten, bound and gagged early Thursday inside the trunk, according to the Pasco County Sheriff's office.
Deputy Chad Tadlock had seen the broken taillight and pulled over the Toyota sedan.
As Tadlock wrote driver Amy Welch a ticket, he noticed what looked like rolling papers in her purse and asked to search the car, authorities said.
Tadlock heard Prestridge's banging inside the car's trunk after Welch and three male passengers stepped out of the vehicle, Pasco sheriff's spokesman Doug Tobin said.

Why is it that when a custodial parent fails to provide for a child it is called neglect and is a criminal matter. But when a non custodial parent fails to provide it is called failure to support and is a civil matter?
