TX - Hydrogen sulfide kills one, forces hundreds to evacuate at UT-Austin apartments

Are they implying that someone on the 4th floor was trying to commit suicide?

From https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hydrogen_sulfide
"Hydrogen sulfide is the chemical compound with the formula H

2
S. It is a colorless gas with the characteristic foul odor of rotten eggs; it is heavier than air, very poisonous, corrosive, flammable, and explosive."

From a 2010 article at http://www.chemistry-blog.com/2010/03/15/hydrogen-sulfide-suicide/ on "Hydrogen Sulfide Suicide."

"Suicide by hydrogen sulfide was new to me. But a wave of this type of chemical suicide swept Japan beginning in 2008. A USA Today article written in July 2008 noted over 500 deaths so far that year from hydrogen sulfide. One teen, who released the gas in her apartment, sickened more than 80 people throughout the complex as the gas spread from unit to unit. Isolated cases have appeared throughout the United States in the past few years..."

"According to one source, “just 2-3 breaths of HS at >700 ppm can cause immediate death.”

"Other Chemistry Blog posts on suicides in chemistry
."

"Fortunately, emergency management teams have produced a number of documents to aid emergency responders."

I am baffled by this, if this was actually a method this person chose to commit suicide. As someone who lives in an apartment building, it also makes me uneasy because someone else deciding to do this makes me vulnerable.
