From the link above (thanks los )

Her boyfriend told police he received a text message from a person claiming to have Raymundo. The suspect demanded money in exchange for her safety.

    (...)

Police said they are working with Verizon Wireless to locate her cellphone.

I'm going to cast a jaded eye to the boyfriend's story until I find out that this lady is very wealthy or well-connected or if there is a drug issue with him (money owed). It would be highly unusual for a kidnapping to occur for ransom in Ohio if she and her boyfriend are average people.

I'm thinking much the same way michmi! The chances of a random kidnapping for ransom here are virtually zero.

Dover Police Cpt. Chad Mowrer says, the text message was typed in “choppy Spanish” and difficult to translate.

“At first we believed it was a ransom message,” said Cpt. Mowrer. “But now it sounds more in the context of 'you’ll pay for what you’ve done'.”

Raymundo came to Ohio from Guatemala about a year ago and was living with friends and her boyfriend in a duplex on North Tuscarawas Ave.

    (...)

Police said they are working with Verizon Wireless to locate her cell. Initially the phone “pinged” on several towers “heading south,” but police say it has not “pinged” since Monday afternoon.

Ok I'm willing to pay a tax to provide every woman with a GPS bracelet when she gets a positive pregnancy test. This concept of being endangered due to pregnancy is horrible and needs to stop.

I'm relieved. I didn't think this would be the outcome honestly.

I'm glad, but still think something isn't quite right...
