Human bones found 18 years ago in a river in rural Portage County belong to a West Allis woman who had been missing since July 1995.

DNA testing confirmed the remains belong to 36-year-old Susan M. Glaser, the Portage County Sheriff's Office said in a news release Monday morning. The new positive test results came nearly two decades after human bones were found in the town of Amherst's Tomorrow River.

The West Allis Police Department asked Portage County to keep the identity of the remains confidential to assist the investigation.

As of Monday, no suspects have been arrested in connection with Glaser's death, according to the Sheriff's Department.

The Wisconsin Missing Person Directory pretty much alludes to what happened to her. One could presume he was questioned after the police report was filed and he then committed suicide.

"Susan Glaser was last heard from in July of 1995. Her estranged boyfriend committed suicide in October of 1995 after having made suspicious statements regarding Susan."

Susan M. Glaser of West Allis, Wisconsin was 37 years old when a family member walked into the West Allis Police Department and reported her missing since July 1995. The missing persons report was filed on October 19, 1995.
