After more than six hours of investigating the human remains found in southwest Bloomington, forensic anthropologists reported Tuesday the scene did not indicate foul play.

A Duke Energy electrical employee found the skeletal remains on the ground on the 1600 block of S. Rogers Street at about 2:30 p.m. Monday, Bloomington Police Department Capt. Steve Kellams said.

I couldn't find anything further about these remains. Lots of articles about the discovery, but everybody lost interest when they said it wasn't Lauren. There was a comment that this decedent was probably a homeless guy, but I couldn't find anything to confirm that, nor could I find a listing in ISP or Namus.

The Bloomington, Ind., police department said Monday a decomposed body had been found on the northeast side of Indianapolis, but it remained unknown if the remains are related to the case of a missing Indiana University college student.WXIN-TV reported that a female body was pulled from Fall Creek on Indianapolis northeast side Sunday evening. The body, which was floating in the creek while lodged between some debris, was reported by witnesses around 6:50pm ET, the station reported.
Authorities would not confirm the report that the body was that of a woman, but said a forensic examination was pending.
The Marion County Coroners Office is due to conduct an autopsy on the body Tuesday morning, WXIN said.
Indiana University student Lauren Spierer, 20, disappeared June 3 after a night spent partying with friends. After weeks of intense media attention and wide-scale searches failed to turn up any solid leads, the Bloomington Police Department which has led the Spierer investigation had scaled back its canvassing efforts.
In a statement issued Monday, the Bloomington Police Department said its investigators are in contact with the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD), apparently to determine if the remains may be those of the missing student.
Bloomington Police investigators are in contact with IMPD, but at this time there is not enough information for IMPD to determine the identity or a basic description, the statement read.
A forensic examination is pending which will hopefully provide more information, it added.

Interesting, but I'm not sure how it's related to this case or Lauren's?

I don't see any further information about this case. Couldn't find it in Namus. Media seems to have lost interest as soon it was announced that the remains weren't Lauren Speirer.
