KY - Michele Brewer, 45, & Willie Bowling, 51, murdered, Lexington, 28 March 2016

One month after a woman and her friend were discovered brutally murdered inside her Lexington home, the crime remains unsolved.

Michele Brewer, 45, just 3 days away from turning 46, and her friend, Willie Bowling, 51, had been shot multiple times...

Alyssa McCurry, Brewer's niece, said family had been trying to reach her since 2 that afternoon. When she stopped by the home on State Road 356 she discovered the door open. In the kitchen she discovered her aunt, beaten so severely her face was swollen and bruised, covered in blood. Laying next to her was Bowling, a friend she was allowing to stay with her.

Brewer was a mother of three. Her family says Bowling was staying with her because the two were friends and he had nowhere else to go.

"When she would leave, he'd help with the yard, do yard work, mow, feed the dogs," Shila said. "He said he would die for her, and he did."

Detectives were back on the scene throughout the day Tuesday looking for clues in the case.

Scott County Sheriff Dan McClain announced that three people have been charged with the shooting deaths of 45-year-old Michele Brewer and 51-year-old Jesse Bowling.

Charged in connection with the homicides are; 57-year-old Roger McIntosh of Crothersville, 54-year-old Phillip McIntosh and 52-year-old David McIntosh, both of North Vernon.

Brewer was a confidential informant who purchased drugs from Roger McIntosh for detectives, according to the probable cause affidavit.

A relative told investigators he found out Brewer was working as an informant after he obtained copies of the evidence filed against him in the drug case, according to the affidavit. Brewer bought drugs from him at the request of detectives in that case, according to the affidavit.

Investigators also say they have an audio recording of Roger McIntosh talking about wanting to kill Brewer and Bowling because they were witnesses against him in pending criminal cases.

It was only in recent months that detectives received a break in the case – a confession from Phillip McIntosh. According to the affidavit, he admitted to shooting both Brewer and Bowling.
