The St Mary police are now carrying out a massive search for a missing American man in Albion Mountain in the parish.

Harold Nichols is being treated as a missing person after his missionary colleague Randy Hentzel was found dead...

Nichols and Hentzel reportedly rented two motor bikes in Ocho Rios, St Ann, yesterday and went on the mountainous trail in St Mary.

The death of United States missionary Randy Hentzel has sent shockwaves throughout the parish of St Mary as local police continue their ongoing probe into the man’s suspected murder.

This comes after reports surfaced on Saturday, April 30, that the body of a male Caucasian was found along a dirt track in Albion Mountain in the northern parish.

Hentzel, 58, was found lying face-down with his hands bound behind him near a motorcycle that is suspected to have belonged to him.

I'm thinking Harold's body is around the area. It sounds too risky to kidnap him. And if he was, you wonder why his friend was killed.

Doesn't sound like theft was the motive if his motorbike was still there beside him.
Wonder if Harold is being held for ransom ?

Never heard of Teams for medical missions before.. were they murdered in the hopes they might be carrying money ?

The search for Harold Nichols concluded a short while ago when a team of police and residents found his body in St Mary.

His head was reportedly bashed in.

In a statement, the Jamaica Constabulary Force identified the two men as Randy Hentzel, 48, and Harold Nichols, 53. Their battered bodies were found in bushes in separate areas of St. Mary parish.

There have been no arrests, and investigators made no comment about a possible motive.

The men were apparently attacked as they drove together on a motorcycle to check the foundation of a house they were building.

:rose: RIP Harold :rose:
:rose: RIP Randy :rose:

Nichols' body was found late Sunday afternoon during a search involving support from the Canine Division and residents. His colleague was found face down in bushes on Saturday with his hands bound to the back.

Marks of violence were seen (on Nichols' body) ... . These persons are missionaries and they would have been in Jamaica for over 14 years doing a lot of humanitarian work. They were assisting people with houses and with a regular medical team that comes down from abroad. foundation was finished and to check on the woman it was being built for. I believe Randy wanted to take care of somebody that was in his Bible college who was in dire need of a house. They were gonna go look at her situation yesterday (Saturday) morning.

So very tragic. What a complete waste. These two men were there to help others.
RIP Randy and Harold.

There is a picture of Harold and his wife on his wife's Facebook page dated the 30th. They are standing together with backpacks (looks like they were about to go hiking?). I wonder where his wife is now and if she is safe?

RIP Harold and Randy. My thoughts and prayers for the family.

So very, very sad and tragic for us to lose two compassionate and loving men who were doing so much good in the world.

Jamaican authorities probing the murders of two American missionaries last month have no suspects and few clues, leaving church leaders in the U.S. frustrated and seeking “biblical justice.”

The bodies of Randy Hentzel, who was sent to the island by his Ankeny, Iowa, Southern Baptist church, and Harold Nichols, from a United Methodist church in East Randolph, N.Y., were found apparently beaten to death on April 30 in a remote and rural area where they had gone to ride motorcycles. "We are praying for right, biblical justice," the Rev. Todd Stiles, of First Family Church, where Hentzel worshipped, told the Baptist Press. “But we're also praying for Gospel expansion.”

Last week, officials from the Jamaica Constabulary Force announced that the FBI has joined the investigation.

"The investigators from the United States met with local investigators today to discuss the case and have since committed to supporting the local investigators in their probe," the statement said

Jamaica Constabulary Force Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay told Crimesider Friday that ballistics evidence tied the bodies to a gun associated with 25-year-old Andre "'Baugh" Thomas, who was arrested and charged with murder and illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Police are also searching for 25-year-old Dwight Henry, known by the nicknames 'Dougie' and 'Chino,' a relative of Thomas who is a person-of-interest in the case. Thomas and Henry are both from St. Mary's Parish, police said.

Jamaica Constabulary Force Superintendent Stephanie Lindsay told Crimesider that Henry apparently became ill Wednesday afternoon and was transported to the hospital, where he was able to escape his police guard.

Lindsay said officials do not believe Henry has left the island, and they are currently searching for him and investigating the circumstances of the escape.
