Bless everyone supporting Lynette's family in their quest for justice for their girl. Godspeed.

'Nationwide support gives hope to family of Lynette Daley'
    by Clair Morton
    12th May 2016 11:00am
    Updated 13th May 7:09am

'A CLOSE relative of Lynette Daley says the extent of nationwide support for her case to be brought to justice has been reassuring for the family.

Dallas Waters is Lynette's cousin and also a White Ribbon Australia ambassador in the campaign to stop violence against women.

Mr Waters said it had been an overwhelming week full of mixed emotions - heart-breaking and confronting to relive the details of her death, but heartening to hear the passion and caring nature of people right across nation.

A change.org petition for the case to be properly reviewed has already exceeded 60,250 signaures since it was launched following a Four Corners episode on the case on Monday night.

On Wednesday the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions NSW announced an independent review into its decision not to prosecute two men charged with manslaughter following Ms Daley's death on an Iluka Beach in 2011.

Prior to this week, he said, the family was feeling lost, because "it seemed nobody cared or would listen to the the astonishing result of the process with the DPP".

"The family was unaware of where to from here and how far can we push for justice. We've been fortunate that this has resonated right across the Aboriginal community, and wider community as well," Mr Waters said.

Bruce and Denise Morcombe, parents of murdered Queensland boy Daniel Morcombe, even drove to the Clarence Valley to personally offer their own message of support to Gordon and Lynette's mother Thelma.

    They left this morning.

"It's been emotionally draining, but we have found our faith in humanity after all," Mr Davis said.

"We're gobsmacked at the results of this and still trying to process. I love each and every one of the people who have brought this to attention."

"We'll see what happens now and go from there. We can only take it a step at a time."'

Another 'proud, black woman', Adeline Rigney-Wilson, aged 29, and her two children, a girl aged 6, and a boy aged 5, found murdered by her partner, Steven Peet, at a property in Hillier, SA:

    http://www.websleuths.com/forums/sho...SA-30-May-2016

Their alleged killer was not the biological father of either of Adeline's children.

Another young woman dead along with her two beautiful children. Australian society at its absolute worst. It makes me ashamed to call myself Australian. We need a Royal Commission into Family/Domestic Violence and Homicide.

Lynette Daley outrage sparks wider campaign for justice
    by Clair Morton
    The Daily Examiner
    16th May 2016 5:06 PM

'FOUR Clarence Valley women – missing, dead or murdered – all have one thing in common.

Their families are still waiting for justice in relation to their disappearances.

With Maclean woman Lynette ‘Norma’ Daley’s beach death now in the spotlight, the community is calling for the same thing; justice for all women.'

'Campaign organiser Debrah Novak said the recent outrage over the failure to prosecute two men who were originally charged with manslaughter over Ms Daley’s death had brought up a number of other cases in the community where justice was still being sought.

More than a year after her disappearance, police are still actively pursuing the presumed murder of Grafton woman Sharon Edwards, while the person/s responsible for the murder of Brooms Head girl Lee Ellen Stace in 1997 remains a mystery.

Missing South Grafton woman Jasmine Morris hasn’t been seen since 2009.

“This campaign is off the back of justice for Norma, which (aimed) to get the DPP to review the case, and trying to bring awareness that May is domestic violence awareness month,” Ms Novak said.

“We want women to rise up and... air what they feel is important in a public safety campaign. That’s why were getting involved in this, to start this conversation that the Clarence Valley really needs to have.”'

A Current Affair confronting for Lynette Daley family
    by Clair Morton
    The Daily Examiner
    25th May 2016 10:54 AM
    UPDATED 26th May 8:28 AM

'TO SAY that watching last night's A Current Affair episode on the tragic death of Lynette Daley was difficult for her mother and step-father would be an understatement.

But after five years waiting for justice, keeping her story in the public eye is more important to Gordon and Thelma Davis.

Even if it means seeing one of the men accused of involvement in her death, Adrian Attwater, on the television screen after being tracked to Townsville by the ACA crew.'

"He's just a bastard - he doesn't care. He shows no remorse and no guilt," Mr Davis said.

"He's gotten away with it, at least he thinks he has."

Mr Davis says he is confident, however, that karma will catch up with Attwater, and he hopes it will be in a way that coincides with justice for his step-daughter.'

'Last Thursday, Gordon and Thelma met with NSW Attorney General Gabrielle Upton and DPP's Lloyd Babb over Skype, to discuss the independent review into the DPP's decision not to prosecute Attwater and his friend Paul Maris over the controversial events which led to Ms Daley's death in 2011, despite being charged.

While Mr Babb asked them what he could do for the couple, neither he or Ms Upton could give a timeframe of when they would see the review's outcome.

"All they said was it was under review and in the hands of independent (barristers)," Mr Davis said.

"I asked them for a time frame and they said they couldn't tell me, they didn't have one, but they wanted to do it thoroughly. I just said we're not asking for much, and they nodded but couldn't say yes or no.

"Things have changed for the Bowraville folks but it took them 20 years so maybe it will take 20 years for us too.'

Lynette Daley: Man charged over woman's death chased down street after bail hearing

'An ambulance has been called to chaotic scenes outside a northern New South Wales court after two men charged over the death of Aboriginal woman Lynette Daley were granted bail.'

'Adrian Attwater and Paul Maris appeared in court for the first time since the charges were laid in June this year.

They were granted conditional bail in Grafton Local Court and had their addresses suppressed after their legal counsel told the court they feared for their safety.

As Attwater left the courthouse he was yelled at and jostled by angry family members, who chased him down the street.

One family member collapsed amidst the tousle and an ambulance had to be called.'

'The case was adjourned to next month.'

Lynette Daley death: Violence erupts outside Grafton court after first appearance of accused men

A crowd of around 50 of Ms Daley’s family and friends set upon Mr Attwater as he left court and walked to his car, screaming "hang, you dog" and assailing him.

One of Ms Daley's supporters collapsed and was taken from the scene by paramedics in an ambulance.

Mr Attwater's co-accused Mr Maris was ushered into the nearby police station and later escorted by officers from the area.

Lynette Daley death: Men accused of beach death plead not guilty

    Updated Fri Dec 02 14:50:46 EST 2016
    Posted Fri Dec 02 11:26:04 EST 2016

'Two men have pleaded not guilty to charges over the death of Lynette Daley on Ten Mile Beach, in northern New South Wales in 2011.

Adrian Attwater — who told police he was Ms Daley's boyfriend at the time — and Paul Maris had been on an alcohol-fuelled camping trip with the mother-of-seven when she died.

Today at the Supreme Court in Sydney, Attwater pleaded not guilty to manslaughter and aggravated sexual assault, and Maris pleaded not guilty to being an accessory to both counts.

Family and friends of Ms Daley burst into tears as they heard the pleas.

    Daughters 'still traumatised'

Outside court, a group of supporters held banners calling for an end to violence against women.

Relatives of Ms Daley told the ABC two of her teenage daughters are still traumatised by their mother's death five years ago.'

'Attwater appeared in court via video link from interstate.

Maris enlisted the help of NSW Police and court security to leave the court house and avoid Ms Daley's supporters.

Making no comment to the media, he went straight to a taxi.

The men are due to stand trial on July 24 next year, but a location is yet to be set.

Legal representatives for both men requested the trial be held in Coffs Harbour.'
