My post on the blog explains how to respond to people who email you these hoaxes. Let's send emails about real missing people.

I was visting a friend a few weeks ago and I saw this very same e-mail that someone had printed out and hung on a door in the apartment building a friend lives in. I had never heard of this child before, so I remembered the name and checked it out when I got home. Turns out this was a hoax. I had my friend take the paper down, so people weren't going and keeping their eye out for this little boy who isn't even missing.

That is really sickening. Can't anything be done about people who do things like this? It is like the "Runaway Bride." It should be illegal to do this.

I just hit "reply all" and send my link. No one can trace who started it at this point, so we can only try to correct it.

    More hoaxes

I just got this too, all the way from Canada. It is still making its way around Kelly. I'm glad I went through the files here. I know why my friend mailed it to me to check it out. Plus, it scared her.

Thank you for the alert. I thought it sounded fishy.

Once again,Thank you all at WebSleuths for doing such a great job.

And fourboys, thanks for all your work always.

These people make me sick. When people are not attuned with the missing and receive these notes, they get very worried and upset.
Kelly and all, keep up the fight for the children and the missing.

    prayers and love

    Gozgals

I just got this and stupid me, before checking out, I forwarded on to everyone I know! Why do people do such things? What could they gain from this?

So, I had to send another email, apologizing to everyone (I even sent it to Tricia and Amraann!) UGH!

Yes, these are going around again. Please check my post on the blog two days ago as to how you can help nip this in the bud. Thank you.

I started a thread that included all of the children's names that I could find that were going around in those hoax e-mails. If people would take the time to send e-mails around of kids who were really missing some might be found by now. Here's the link to my thread:
