"JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - A truck driver was found shot and killed Saturday afternoon on the side of Interstate 10 after an apparent road rage incident with another truck driver. Police said the second driver remains on the loose.
The victim from the homicide was identified Sunday as 44-year-old George Guerrero, from New Jersey."

"Police describe the shooter as a black man with a beard driving an early 2000s/mid 2000s dull orange Century or Columbia Freightliner cab pulling a 53-foot white trailer."

"Homicide detectives said the shooting took place after the shooter's vehicle started tailgating Guerrero's tractor-trailer, which had moved to left lane to avoid construction. When Guerrero moved back into the right lane, an orange semi pulled alongside and appeared to bump the victim’s rig. The victim's truck then veered off the highway and drove into the woods. Police said Guerrero was shot as the second semi passed him."

That shooter needs to be found ASAP! He's still on the roadways. Good grief!

Police release photo in search for trucker's killer.
"Police investigating the fatal shooting of a 44-year-old truck driver Saturday afternoon on Interstate 10 have released a picture of a cab they believe is similar to the one the gunman was driving at the time." (snipped) " Homicide detectives working the case had described the big rig they were looking for as having a dull orange cab pulling a 53-foot white trailer. On Tuesday, the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office released a stock photo of the made, model and color of the cab that police locally and along interstate highways around the southeast were looking for."

Wow. Sounds like one of the horror movies I saw where a big rig driver was a serial killer and terrorizing young teens.

Some tense moments in Waldo, FL which is near Gainesville, FL this morning as a truck resembling the shooter's truck was reported. Unfortunately, it was not the truck. A killer is still on the loose and please if anyone knows people traveling long distances or truckers, pass on the info. This was a road rage incident and the killer may strike again. Thanks.

"Alachua County deputies were called to investigate a truck matching the description released by the Jacksonville Sheriff's Office after a tip was called in to the Florida Highway Patrol.
The tip, which led deputies to the Pilot truck stop off Highway 301 in Waldo, did not turn up the truck being sought, but investigators encourage citizens to keep their eyes open and keep calling in tips."

From what I've read on the News4Jax site, the victim's family was dealing with the recent loss of the victim's father and now this! He also has one child from reports. Only 44 years old and just doing his job and trying to make a living. Jeesh!

Doesn't it?! I saw that movie too, and also the one Spielberg made with Dennis Weaver as a car driver going down the mountain with a sociopathic trucker on his tail. Scared the wits out of me! I believe that was Speilberg's first movie.

Hum, that describes about a million vehicles, on the roads.

The info is getting around a lot of trucking sites. Someone will remember seeing it and hopefully a dash cam caught more info . Just wish the driver that was shot had one. It is one of the most important items too have.

As a trucker I hate hearing this. Way too many crazy people out there.
