TX - Sharon Beard, 38, stabbed to death, Lubbock, 13 Oct 2005
Lubbock Police have a homicide victim, and now they are trying to figure out who stabbed her, where and why. The investigation started around one o'clock Thursday afternoon when Jonathan Beard drove his wife, 38-year-old Sharon Beard, to UMC. She was taken to the emergency room with stab wounds to her head, neck and back. Just later, she died.
Now, police are processing the car she arrived in, for any possible evidence. They're questioning Mr. Beard and other relatives for any information they may have related to how the injuries occurred.
NewsChannel 11 has learned the two were married in 2000. Family friend and former employer, Stephany Clarida, says Sharon always worked hard to take care of her four children. She was always friendly and compassionate. Clarida says Sharon was a beautiful person inside and out and she'll always remember her smile.

Woman's stabbing death under investigation
BY D. LANCE LUNSFORD
Lubbock police are investigating the stabbing death of a woman whose husband brought her to University Medical Center on Thursday.
The couple pulled into an emergency driveway at University Medical Center at 12:50 p.m. When her 44-year-old husband swung his car door open, witnesses saw Sharon Lynn Beard, 38, covered in blood and moaning, police said.
The mother of four was pronounced dead at 1:08 p.m., according to UMC officials.
Lubbock police Lt. Roy Bassett said Beard suffered wounds to her head, neck and back.
"At this time, LPD detectives are processing the car in which Beard was transported for any possible evidence," said Bassett. "Mr. Beard is being interviewed about any information he might have related to this incident."
He said investigators hope to obtain information from interviews to locate the scene where the stabbing occurred.
A witness at UMC said Beard appeared slightly conscious when nurses placed her in a wheelchair and carted her inside.
Karen Henry said her cousin was an outgoing woman who loved scary films and action movies. She was shocked when she learned Thursday afternoon that Beard had been killed.
"I could understand if she was a violent person, going around starting stuff, but she wasn't," Henry said. "I don't understand why someone would take her life."
Beard, who worked at the Lubbock Inn, often fought with her husband, Henry said.
"He was just a jealous man," Henry said.
No arrests had been made and police said they had not found a crime scene Thursday night.
Anyone with any information related to this case is asked to call Crime Line at 741-1000.
