TX - Kendra Keppler, 27, found murdered in her Abilene apartment, 18 May 2016

The identity of the woman who was killed inside a residence in west Abilene has been released.

Friends and family members say Kendra Keppler is the victim of an apparent homicide that happened on the 3900 block of Whittier Street. She leaves six children behind, according to a family member.

Her body was found around 6:00 p.m. Wednesday evening.

The Abilene Police Department has not released any details surrounding Keppler's death, but they did confirm they're moving forward with a homicide investigation.

Officers wore hazmat suits as they worked the scene. Police say Keppler's body was inside the residence for days before it was found.
The police have not said much about this murder, but I'm hoping this will be resolved quickly.

I think the quoted portion above came from: http://www.bigcountryhomepage.com/ne...ide-identified

    ETA:
Family members and long-time friends said Kendra Keppler was a fighter. The relatives said that though all of her 6 children were in CPS custody, Keppler fought everyday for them.

She was actually getting a new job and working on getting a house, so she could one day be back with her children. The family did admit Keppler was very secretive when it came to her whereabouts and where she was living.

ABILENE, Texas (KTAB/KRBC) -- An Abilene man has confessed to using a murder victim's identity to withdraw money from the victim's account.

Charles Newman, 36, was arrested Thursday night on a charge of Fraudulent Possession of ID and a parole violation.

Police records state Newman confessed to using documents belonging to Kendra Keppler, the victim in an ongoing Abilene homicide investigation, to withdraw $200 from her bank account.

Newman was also found to be in possession of identifying information belonging to two other people, the police report states.

Charles Newman, who recently was named a “person of interest” in the murder of Kendra Keppler, was formally charged with murder Friday.

    *snipped*

According to a search warrant for the clothes Newman was wearing when he was arrested, which was unsealed and obtained by KTXS Thursday, Newman’s wife, Rachell Newman, told police on May 20 that he said he had shot someone in the head several days before.

The warrant says police believe Charles was "present at the time of Keppler's murder and physical evidence exists on his clothing worn at the time of the murder."

According to the search warrant, she had a gunshot wound to her head and her body “was decomposing and had been there several days.”
