DCI Simon Werrett of the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, who is leading the investigation said: “In June 2014, nearly two years ago, Angela’s skeletal remains were found on Foulness Island and we continue to investigate to identify how she died and how she ended up there...

“We know Angela lived a chaotic lifestyle; that sometimes she lived with her partner in Southend and other times she then moved back to live on the streets, mainly down Southend High Street...

The remains were found on a part of Foulness Island known as New Burwood Head on the Broomway Path, near the Great Wakering Stairs.

''Mystery remains over the remains of a homeless woman feared murdered who was washed up on an island with her face wrapped in gaffer tape.

Human bones were discovered in the salt marshes of Foulness Island in Essex in June 2014 prompting a huge search of the area. DNA later identified her as 33-year-old Angela Millington. She had last been seen the previous February in Southend-on-Sea, Essex, and was known among the town's street drinkers and homeless people.

In 2016 police investigating her death released disturbing mock-up images of how the gaffer tape had been used. The images showed how black tape was wrapped around the face of a mannequin. The real mask was later released.

Caked with mud, the disturbing image was made all the worse as officers were unable to say if it had been placed on Angela’s face before or after her death. A coroner recorded an open verdict over Miss Millington's death at an inquest but a post-mortem examination failed to establish how she died.''

"Crimestoppers have put up a reward of £10,000, which is there for anyone who gives the information which leads to the arrest and conviction of the person responsible for Angela's death''.
