Ladysmith RCMP’s initial investigation turned up some suspicious aspects to Hein’s death, promoting them to call in the Vancouver Island Integrated Major Crime Unit.

But this week marks the third anniversary of the crime, and despite Mike Gogo putting up a $10,000 reward for information that would catch the culprit, friends are still at a loss about who killed Hein.
