A 21-year-old pregnant woman who was found dead in Roebuck last year has now been determined to have been the victim of a homicide, the Spartanburg County Sheriff's Office announced Monday.

Erika Breanna Spencer was found dead at 110 Davis Drive in Roebuck on May 21, 2015.

The cause of death, according to the coroner, is respiratory insufficiency secondary to acute passive congestion and pulmonary edema secondary to manual throttling of the neck, or strangulation.

They also determined someone was with her right before or during the time she died.

Deputies said someone was with Spencer right before or when she died and they have not determined who that person was.

Violent Crimes investigators will be on Davis Road in Roebuck Monday at 1 p.m. handing out flyers in an attempt to generate some new leads for this investigation.

Authorities are asking for the public's help. They are asking anyone who live (sic) in the area at the time that may have seen anything suspicious to a contact Sgt. Brandon Letterman at 864-503-4608 or email him at bletterman@spartanburgcounty.org.

Deputies said Spencer also had a small child.

It has taken them one year to figure this little bit out? The trail is pretty cold by now.
 
Bump. Was anyone ever arrested for Erika's murder?
 
Sounds like pretty sorry police work, to me. It also sounds like nobody cared about this poor girl at all. If she was my friend or relative, I would be contacting every newspaper and every TV station who would listen to get the word out and get this monster who killed her locked up for good.
 
I also read that after my irate post! But I still think family and friends need to light a fire under the police and try to get some results about this case before the killers head to Alaska, or some other far off place.
 
Has she been added to the TK thread as a possible victim? Is that a possibility? ETA NM I think I remember seeing her picture there.
 
Hopefully, they have DNA from her killer...
