On Sunday, May 21, 1989, at approximately 04:30 hours, LVMPD patrol officers responded to the 1000 block of South Commerce Street for a report of a suspicious situation. Officers arrived and met with the person reporting, who directed them to the location of an unidentified adult female with multiple blunt trauma injuries, and the officers believed she was deceased.
On Sunday, May 21, 1989, at approximately 07:45 hours, the assigned Deputy Coroner Investigator pronounced the adult female deceased at the scene. On Sunday, May 21, 1989, the LVMPD Homicide Section and other personnel initiated an investigation into the decedents death.
On Monday, May 22, 1989, the Clark County Office of the Coroner / Medical Examiner via fingerprints identified the adult female as being Tracy Jackson. On the same date, after a complete autopsy G. Sheldon Green, M.D. - Chief Medical Examiner opined the manner of her death was a homicide.
The LVMPD Homicide Section continued their investigation to a point in which there was no new information or leads to follow-up on and the death of Tracy Jackson is an unresolved murder and there are no known suspects.
