NV - Tracy Freel Jackson, 25, Las Vegas, 21 May 1989

    Tracy Freel pic 2.jpg

On Sunday, May 21, 1989, at approximately 04:30 hours, LVMPD patrol officers responded to the 1000 block of South Commerce Street for a report of a suspicious situation. Officers arrived and met with the person reporting, who directed them to the location of an unidentified adult female with multiple blunt trauma injuries, and the officers believed she was deceased.

On Sunday, May 21, 1989, at approximately 07:45 hours, the assigned Deputy Coroner Investigator pronounced the adult female deceased at the scene. On Sunday, May 21, 1989, the LVMPD Homicide Section and other personnel initiated an investigation into the decedentís death.

On Monday, May 22, 1989, the Clark County Office of the Coroner / Medical Examiner via fingerprints identified the adult female as being Tracy Jackson. On the same date, after a complete autopsy G. Sheldon Green, M.D. - Chief Medical Examiner opined the manner of her death was a homicide.

The LVMPD Homicide Section continued their investigation to a point in which there was no new information or leads to follow-up on and the death of Tracy Jackson is an unresolved murder and there are no known suspects.

    LVMPD DR NUMBER 89-69928

Some pics of my sister Tracy. and $reward info

The picture of the three of us on the couch. Me on the left, Tracy in the middle, our little brother Ray on the right.

Tracy needs peace and justice. In my darkest hour she came to me and comforted me. She comforts me sill. She gives me strength to find her murderer. I will find him. Tracy and our family need peace and closure.

If anyone has any information, please post or message me, or call Det Dave Culver.

I'm offering a $20,000 reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of a suspect. It's money I've saved up through the years.

Thank you all, thanks to the people who run this site for their selflessness and empathy.

Thank you so much for "sharing" Tracy with us.

I'd honestly never heard of her case before reading about her here. I wish there was more I could do to help (and if there is anything, please let me know), but you and your family will be in my prayers.

I hope this isn't presumptuous of me to ask, but do you have any theories or ideas you'd feel comfortable sharing? If not, I completely understand.

I do have a few personal theories, but cold case detective Dave Culver said I shouldn't post people I suspect on the web. That information can be used against us by a crafty defense attorney. It's happened to Det Culver before in a cold case, and I'd hate to have that happen in Tracy's case. Thanks for your concern, and your empathy.

I'm trying to find out about the FBI Cold Case Group that lent a hand to the local PD in a case in this forum, the poor woman who was killed with an ax. The group is mentioned in this article.

I think I speak for everyone here in saying that we understand and appreciate that the integrity of the investigation is of the utmost importance. We'd never ask you, nor would we want you to divulge any information that could potentially compromise that.

Best wishes as you continue to pursue justice for Tracy and your family. If I come across anything that I think could be helpful, I will definitely post it here.

Thanks again KayElJay, Tracy was special to my heart.

I suffered a spinal cord injury in 1986, Tracy moved down to help me adjust to being a paraplegic. She took care of me, taught me how to be independent. She had to do some godawful stuff to help me, intimate, personal things nurses do, but she did it until I was able to care for myself.

She stuck around afterwards, and we became even closer than ever before. I lived in California, and I told Tracy to go to Las Vegas to spend some time, some down time, for taking care of me and helping me out. She was also pregnant at the time I became paralyzed, but she smiled through it all. We were as close as siblings can get, she's forever in my heart, and I feel her nearby always. But I feel guilt for being the reason she was in Las Vegas to begin with, and when that gets to be too much, she somehow comes to me and soothes me.

Please, if anyone has any information or can pass this thread/story along to other places on the Internet, or just tell your friends, Tracy and I would appreciate it. I miss my little sister, and even though she comforts me when I think of her or look at her picture, she wants me to find peace for her - that is a strong impression that has gotten stronger this past year for some reason.

So thanks everybody who reads this thread, know that I am eternally grateful for your compassion. It means a lot to me, and to my siblings. Our parents died long ago.

Tracy was last seen leaving the Silver Dollar bar/casino in Las Vegas with a heavyset woman aged 55-60, blond hair and glasses. They may have gone to the Sunset Lounge on Main street. I don't believe the Sunset Lounge is still in business, some other proprietor must have a business there these days.

    Just a little info, thanks.

I think I have a local TV reporter in LV who will interview me and the lead detective about Tracy's case, and air it on the evening news. Don't want to jinx anything, but I think it's a go for early to mid July. Don't want to give out any names yet, in case it doesn't happen. But I'm hopeful!

Tracy sounds like she was a wonderful person. I'm so glad that it sounds like you're making headway. Do you have a Facebook page or group for Tracy? Adding old friends and sharing info on social media may help LE get info.

Thanks azure, she was a sweet caring girl, wouldn't hurt a fly. I miss her. I do have a Facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/TracyFreelJackson/

I'm not sure if the "Boost" button on Tracy's page does much, do you have any idea on how to get Tracy's story out to the Las Vegas members on F?.

The Boost button charges you $ to advertise your page. Could be worth it if you can target the neighborhoods in LV where she lived and frequented. Probably your best bet is to invite her friends from that time in her life to like the page, and for them to invite others.

Thanks azure, Tracy was just a tourist staying a couple months with family. She was headed back to California a week or so after her murder. Didn't know anybody, except for her boyfriend, our brother and his girlfriend. They were all their together, the guys working plastering houses until things picked up construction wise back in California. So Tracy really didn't know anyone except for family she was living with. I have asked friends to like the page, but none of them knew Tracy. I have an interview set for Friday in LV. I'm in Tucson now, and will be driving over tomorrow to get a room. Thanks for your help, and for everyone's help.
