MN - East Grand Forks, 2 Severed Fingers, 26 May 2016 - fireworks accident

    http://www.grandforksherald.com/news...nd-forks-while

There were two severed fingers attached to each other sitting on the bench that looked like they had been there for a while and been in some dirt.
Found on a picnic table in a state recreation area:

    Sounds real strange...

    That's creepy.

I hope they're searching the area to see if a bird or animal pulled it from a shallow grave or something.
Opinions expressed are strictly my own (who else would they belong to???)

Unless you drug the body in by foot, it wouldn't be the wisest area to transport a body to dispose of it. Because it's a state park, the entrance appears to be monitored, and the exit lane is blocked by a gate. Not sure what they do at night, but I can't imagine they just leave it open.

There doesn't appear to be anyone recently missing from the area, either.

Tests confirm two severed fingers found on a picnic table in East Grand Forks last week are human fingers, police say.

East Grand Forks police still can't put their finger on where two severed fingers that were found in late May at an East Grand Forks campsite came from.
No match in the statewide database, so they're now doing a DNA test. Cadaver dogs searched the area and found nothing. The only theory is whether they could be connected to a nearby fireworks accident in late April.

A fireworks accident could do it.

MN - 'Mystery Fingers' Baffle Minnesota Police

Mystery, theories abound in severed-finger case
Investigators haven’t been able to determine the origin of two severed fingers that were found last month at a local campsite, but they say there are a few new theories.

Melissa and Monty Atkinson were setting up at a Red River State Recreation Area campsite May 26 when their 6-year-old found the two fingers on a picnic table. They called law enforcement, and East Grand Forks police Lt. Rodney Hajicek is trying to determine where they came from.

Before you criticize someone, you should walk a mile in their shoes. That way, when you criticize them, you're a mile away and you have their shoes.

"When from a long distant past nothing persists, after the people are dead, after things are broken and scattered, still alone, more persistent, more faithful, the smell and taste of things remain poised a long, long time like souls, ready to remind us, waiting, hoping for their moment amid the ruins of all the rest, and bear unfaltering in the tiny and almost impalpable drop of their essence the vast structure of recollection."

The fireworks accident sounds about right if the person in the accident lost fingers or part of his hand. Anywhere close to that table an animal could have drug it to top of the table. A skunk or Possum or raccoon are all animals that could have drug it to top of picnic table after finding it.

    Other animals could have too.

Oh that's awful that a 6-year old found them. Good Lord. Poor kid.

The fingers did come from the fireworks accident across the river in Grand Forks. A bird likely carried them to where they were found.
