Police searching for clues in disappearance of Thurston Co. teen
Logan Schiendelman of Thurston County disappeared ten days ago. One unusual clue involves the 19-year-old's car.
"The phone was right here, leaning against the seat belt," said Ginnie Schiendelman, his grandmother, as she opened the door to his black Chrysler Sebring convertible. "His wallet was right there in the glove box."

His grandmother last saw him on the morning of May 20, 2016.

Ware says one day later, on May 20, Logan’s car turned up on Interstate 5, near mile marker 92. Witnesses said the driver pulled over onto the shoulder, ran into the woods, but the car was left in gear and drifted through three lanes of traffic.

Ware said witnesses were shown a picture of Schiendelman, but they claim the descriptions don’t match.

TIMELINE FOR LOGAN SCHIENDELMAN MISSING He is son to Hanna, grandson to Ginnie and nephew to Mary.
    May 19, Thursday
Logan was last seen at home a little south of Tumwater at 7:45 am. He left sometime during the day Thursday and did not come home that night.
    May 20, Friday
Logan did not return home on Friday. His car was found at I-5 milepost 92 Southbound in the center median lodged against the concrete barrier. Registered Owners (Ginnie and Bill Gebo) were not notified. The car contained Logan’s cell phone, car keys, water bottle, snacks in a small grocery bag with $25 cash and wallet containing a debit card and his drivers license in the glove compartment. Car was towed by Baker Towing to their lot in Tenino at the request of a Washington State Patrol Sgt Shades who drove around the area to check for persons on foot but did not see anyone.
His grandmother, Ginnie, pinged Logans phone around 11:00 am this day (Friday) about 3 hours before the car was abandoned on I-5 milepost 92. The AT&T locator services gps indicated the the phone was on Boulevard Road in Olympia approximately within an 8 block radius of Steel Street where Logan’s mother lives.
    May 22, Sunday
Ginnie discovered Logan was not at his mothers home as she had thought and drove to the Thurston County Sheriff Office in Olympia but they were closed. She stopped at the Patrol Offices at the Tumwater Airport but the door was closed and locked.
    May 23, Monday
Ginnie returned to the Thurston County Sheriffs Office in Olympia and reported Logan as missing When a Detective ran the vin number of the car it was then discovered the car had been towed by the State Patrol on Friday May 20. Ginnie immediately sent to Baker Towing in Tenino and retrieved the car which contained Logans belongings. Logans car had been in the tow yard for approximately 4 days. There were car registration papers in the car. A detective from Thurston County Sheriff was assigned to the case.
    May 25, Wednesday
Ginnie notified her sister and brother-in-law, Mike and Mary Ware in the evening that Logan was missing
    .
    May 26, Thursday
Mike Ware went to the courthouse to speak with the detectives. Later that day the detective called Logan’s mother, Hanna to see if she had heard from Logan. Detective had very little information but started working the case immediately and found that there were witnesses that had seen the car on I-5 and dialed 911. They had seen the car pull to the right hand shoulder of I-5 and open the driver door to get out. The man then closed the driver door and moved to the passenger seat and let himself out of the car, running towards the woods. This man was a white male about 6 feet tall. Not Logan. The unoccupied car then rolled across three lanes of traffic and lodged itself on the center median concrete barrier coming to a stop. The Thurston County Detective then went to Ginnies home to fingerprint and photograph Logans car. He also took possession of the phone and Logans computer and searched Logans room with the permission of his grandparents
    .
The detective also indicated he was just beginning his series of days off from their four day 10 hour a day workweek which did not include the holiday so he would not be getting back to us until Tuesday, May 31.
This timeline was written on May 30, 2016. It has now been 11 days since we have seen Logan.

Logan is still missing. Article is from 27 June 2016

Today is Logan Schiendelman's 20th birthday, but instead of celebrating, the teen's family and friends are out searching for any clue that could bring him home.

"You can sit there and work your mind all night long coming up with scenarios," Mike Ware, Logan's uncle, who is also a retired Thurston County sheriff's lieutenant, told Dateline. "The circumstances are rather unusual."

    Could this be Logan?

Part of a Thurston County hiking trail is closed after human remains were discovered on Friday.

The sheriff's office said a worker, installing signs along State Route 507, discovered the body of a man along the Yelm-Tenino trail near the Chehalis Western Trail intersection.

Investigators said it's unclear how long the body had been there.

His mother has spoken to the person who found the remains and she does not believe it is Logan.

The posts from yesterday are heartbreaking. It has been 105 days since Logan went missing and the admin/family member is suggesting that police aren't doing enough, are suggesting things about Logans character and the admin/family member believe that he may have encountered a violent person. They are also planning searches on labor day and have set up a fb for that: https://www.facebook.com/Logan-Schie...8344858519437/

I think about this disappearance way too much.

Could this be Logan? If we make some allowances for the sketch not being a great likeness?

On May 20, 2016, Logan Schiendelman's black, 1996 Chrysler Sebring convertible was found abandoned on Interstate 5 between Tumwater and Maytown, Washington. Several drivers called 911 to report the vehicle on the shoulder and seeing a man described as white with light brown or red hair jumping out and running into the woods. The case continues to boggle the community and those who know Logan. More than 6,500 people are part of the Facebook group 'Logan Schiendelman Missing' and family members continue to post periodic updates on the case. Foul play has not been ruled in or out in the case, but Logan's loved ones said they cannot imagine that he would run away.

Nearly eight months later, the Thurston County Sheriff’s Office is out of ideas, Sgt. Carla Carter said.

“All leads have been exhausted at this point,” Carter said. “The case remains open and active and any tip that we receive is thoroughly investigated.”

Despite the lack of new information, Schiendelman’s friends and family haven’t given up hope. They’ve put up countless fliers throughout Thurston County and followed up on leads on their own. They hope that the now 20-year-old is still out there alive and well, and that he’ll contact them someday.

I'm trying to think of what might be an "epiphany" that is too hard to explain. Anyone have any ideas? It would have to be a subject that is not black and white. It was something that would mean a great change in his life. Something defining about anyone's life is their race. And maybe "hard to explain" because he is biracial. Perhaps because his grandmother is white? His mother's FB page refers to black issues in the news... and is multiracial herself. The grandmother who raised him is white... and there are multiple pictures of him with white girls from school. Another "epiphany" could be sexuality. I can see this might be hard to talk to his grandmother about. His mother has a profile photo where she's supporting the LGBT community. His sister promoted trans gender awareness. HIs mother is an artist, and kinda new age... so maybe she taught them to have an open mind... I'm curious as to why Chole and Logan were not FB friends?? Lastly... anyone else notice the red head in LS's FB videos? Of course I'm just guessing at stuff.

Hi Courtre, I'm also coming here from John's video. My first thought about his epiphany was something to do with sexuality/gender identity or just his identity as a person (which includes race.) I haven't been able to check, but is the Canadian border near where his car was found (within 100 miles etc.)? That was something that came to my head, maybe he would try to discover whatever it is about himself in Canada? Probably far fetched, just throwing out ideas and theories for a case that seems stuck
