Doral Police Issue Alert For Missing Mother & Child

The Doral Police Department is seeking the publics help in locating a missing mother and her 9-year-old daughter. Further investigation at the scene revealed Morenos wallet still in her apartment and other physical evidence, which police said suggests she left the apartment in a hurry.

Early Wednesday police officers and crime scene technicians converged on a warehouse building at 10630 NW 123rd Street Road and seemed to focus on one particular bay and a truck parked in front of it.

Her sister heard from Liliana on Sunday night when Moreno sent photos of herself and Daniela at a restaurant and at Dave & Buster's in Dolphin Mall.

She said she spoke on the phone with her sister the next morning and everything seemed fine. That was the last time she heard from Moreno.

On Wednesday, police searched fields west of Hialeah Gardens by air and with the help of K-9s.

A tip also led them to a warehouse in Medley, where they towed away a dumpster as evidence.

Police also searched a home in southwest Miami-Dade and a waterway, where authorities sent dive teams using sonar technology that detects shadows underwater.

Police said no bodies have been found.

Gustavo Castano was taken to Kendall Regional Medical Center with self-inflicted wounds, Miami-Dade police Detective Alvaro Zabaleta said Friday.

The disappearance of a Doral mother and daughter has led investigators to Hialeah Gardens (...)

On Friday, investigators were spotted near an area behind a Home Depot located at 13895 West Okeechobee Road, searching for any clues that may help in their investigation. Miami-Dade Police and Doral police were at the scene. Investigators have been focusing on a nearby lake.

Family and friends of Liliana Moreno and her 8-year old daughter Daniela arrived at the retention pond where police have focused their non-stop search for the missing mom and daughter.

The man at the center of the investigation lost his right eye after he was shot in the face with a police Taser stun gun, his newly hired lawyer said Monday.

Last Friday, Miami-Dade police confronted a suicidal Gustavo Castaño, who stabbed himself in the throat inside a truck in the parking lot of a Hialeah Gardens Home Depot. His lawyer insisted Monday that he had nothing to do with disappearance of his girlfriend, Liliana Moreno, 43, and their daughter, 9-year-old Daniela Moreno.

Eduardo Moreno said he strives to keep an optimistic outlook as the search continues for his sister, 43-year-old Liliana Moreno, and his niece, Daniela Moreno. We have hope, and I think this is more important than other things, he said.

On Saturday, Eduardo Moreno and a handful of volunteers scoured a lake near Interstate 75 in Hialeah with the help of private investigator Scott Vega. We need more information. We need [to] know what happened in this place, what happened with my sister and my niece, he said.

Saturdays search, however, did not yield any findings.

Clues prove elusive in search for missing Doral woman, daughter

More than 50 volunteers scoured desolate and marshy areas in Southwest Miami-Dade on Saturday in search of any clues that may lead them to a Doral mother and daughter who have been missing for nearly a month.
My family is very grateful. So many volunteers are helping us in trying to piece together what happened to Moreno and her daughter, said Morenos brother, Eduardo Moreno.
Moreno and her daughter have been missing since May 31.
