Murder stuns Gold Coast community
Unidentified young woman bludgeoned to death and dumped in L.I. village portrayed in 'The Great Gatsby'

Long Island cops were grappling with a Gold Coast murder mystery yesterday after the bludgeoned body of a young woman was found amid the mansions of the tony North Shore.
The fully clothed body of the extremely petite woman - who authorities suspect was a mother - was discovered beneath towering oak trees in the ultrawealthy enclave of Sands Point.

"It's something you never think would ever happen here," said Susan Stern, who lives in a multimillion-dollar home just 100 feet from the crime scene.

The tragic victim of the chilling "Great Gatsby" murder in Long Island's super-rich Sands Point was so petite, she wore children's-sized clothes — all pink.

Her bloodied body had been found bludgeoned to death on a country road only 200 yards from the entrance to Lands End, the famed, historic mansion that F. Scott Fitzgerald likely used as a model for Daisy Buchanan's estate in his classic novel "The Great Gatsby."

The young woman — freckle-faced and with gray-blue eyes — was found in thick underbrush where privacy-cloaked Sloanes Beach Road meets Hoffstod Lane.

Investigators believe the twentysomething woman was beaten to death Friday somewhere else and dumped into tangled ivy beneath the trees about 5 yards off Hoffstots Lane.

She was just 4-feet-11 and 103 pounds.

The coroner delivered another chilling clue - the woman may have given birth, although it was unclear how recently. "I can't tell you if it's a week or a month or a year [ago]," Farrell said.

I thought the same thing... If the woman had given birth a week ago, there would be obvious signs there that would not be there had she given birth a year ago... That sounds like a very odd statement.

I agree. I thought it took awhile for the uterus to return to it's normal size.

That is odd.

Maybe he hadn't performed the autopsy yet and was going by a visible C-section scar to give police an immediate clue. Those scars don't always heal up fast, and sometimes re-open, stay raw-looking even a year later.

Farrell said the woman, whose body was found by a passerby on Hoffstots Lane and Sloanes Beach Road Saturday afternoon, was between 17 and 24 years old. She carried no wallet, or identification, and does not match the description of anyone reported missing from the metropolitan area, including northern New Jersey and southern Connecticut.

Police on Saturday said they believed the woman was not killed at the site, but that her body was disposed of there. They are hoping the public can help identify her and have scheduled a news conference today, when they plan to release more details, Farrell said.

He said an autopsy completed yesterday indicates the woman was probably killed some time Friday night or early Saturday. Police described her as a strawberry blond who stood 4-foot, 11-inches tall and weighed 103 pounds, with a flower tattooed on her hip and an Irish claddagh ring on her left middle finger. She wore a pink jogging suit.

Nassau County police identified the woman as 24-year-old Elisabeth "Lisa" Parisi, a mother of two who lived more than 50 miles away on Mastic Beach. Her body was discovered Saturday morning in thick underbrush near an intersection.

Police used fingerprints from her July arrested on a domestic assault charge for allegedly stabbing her boyfriend numerous times with a kitchen knife.

Investigators did not say whether they had any suspects.

There are a couple of pictures to the right on this article listed below. Such a sweet young thing and now two small children have to be raised without their mom. Why?

A few blocks away near a small, cedar-shingled home she lived in earlier this year before giving birth to her daughter, a neighbor said she lived with a man she knew as Edgar. They would fight occasionally, and when they did it was loud, said the neighbor, who would not identify herself.

Whenever that happened, someone would pick up Parisi, and she'd return to the house a few days later, the neighbor said.

Police said no one had reported Parisi missing. She was killed only hours before her body was found Saturday, they said. Unable to identify her for two days, police turned to the news media and released pictures of her clothing and her tattoo and a sketch of her face.

I am glad that the family will have some closure. It saddens me when families must go on without knowing. But, I am so tired of reading about young mothers and other going missing or being murdered. When will people realize how precious life is and that it is not theirs to take? Prayers for her family ..........

Family mourns Mastic Beach woman found in Sands Point

A blue daisy tattoo helped Nassau police yesterday identify the woman battered to death and dumped in affluent Sands Point as a mother of two young children from Mastic Beach.

The same tattoo confirmed for family members their suspicion that the woman Elizabeth "Lisa" Parisi, 24, an honor roll student when she was at William Floyd High School, and a lifelong resident of the area, was dead.

The "Great Gatsby" murder victim was a 24-year-old single mom from Long Island with a troubled boyfriend and a history of violence, cops said yesterday.

The petite, freckle-faced Parisi was a full-time mom to her two children — a 4-month-old daughter and a 5-year-old son.

But life was tough for the young woman, especially after she hooked up about a year ago with her construction-worker boyfriend, Edgar Sanchez, who is the father of her daughter, friends and family said.

In identifying Parisi's body, cops matched one of her fingerprints to a set of hers that had been on file following her July 23 arrest for assault, Farrell said.

According to a source, Parisi repeatedly stabbed Sanchez in the neck, face and chest with a kitchen knife.

It is unclear if Parisi had been fighting back from an earlier incident.

Cops refused to say whether the boyfriend was being sought for questioning.
