A 15-year-old high school student said 'I don't want to die' as her teenage boyfriend raped her and then strangled her to death on camera.

Karen Perez's body was then stuffed under the kitchen sink inside an abandoned apartment in a Houston, Texas, complex.

Her boyfriend, who is also 15, has been charged with murder after police found the horrifying footage on his cell phone.

Apparently the killer's father turned him into police:

Such a beautiful young girl. I am so sorry Sweet. Karen>:rose:

I'm so thankful that the killer's father turned him in. What a horrifying way to die at the hands of someone she thought she could trust.

Per link, Tim Miller of Texas Equusearch (sp?) was quoted. Article did not say he/TES actually participated in locating her. I wonder it TES did search.

Maybe of some comfort to family her remains were found.

Sad, sad, sad.

According to Texas EquuSearch, a group of trained volunteers that travel the nation to assist in missing persons cases, the remains of Karen Perez were found Monday night, concealed beneath a sink in a deserted residential complex.

Perez went missing May 27 after leaving South Houston High School with her ex-boyfriend and another male, the spokesman explains....
Perez can be seen in surveillance video walking into a store with the two males, police note.

This just breaks my heart. :(

I cannot believe he recorded her death. How haunting for her family. :(

:rose: R.I.P. Karen :rose:

As more details emerge, it's a tragic situation that happens much too often.

"Authorities have not released the name of the boy, nor his age, but friends said they believed he was 15 and that he also attended South Houston High. Family friends say she broke up with him about two weeks ago."

<snip>

"Five months ago, he said if she broke up with him, her family and friends would never see her again," Gabriela Treviño, 25, a family friend, said.

The teen had destroyed some of her things - smashing a mailbox, window and phone, she said, adding that the family had filed several reports with police.

Such a horrible crime. What is wrong with people anymore?!

Prison for the rest of his life. Nothing less.

:Tears: ITA. I don't know what went wrong in this world but it terrifies me that my children have to grow up in it.

this is a great reminder that justice comes slowly sometimes. (Although I am not sure 40 years, of which he may serve half of that) is justice IMO. I'd love to say what I think of this guy but respectfully, I will instead send love and positive energy to those who knew and loved Karen. I have no idea how they go on after this.
